Glad they got the win, lots of room for improvement. Hope to see win #2 tomorrow.

I'd rather have a 1 run win than loss. Quite a few stranded, but encouraging to have a bunch on base.

I'm sure we will see more runs deeper in the rotation in this early part of the year.

Stop striking out with runners on third. That was freaking pathetic Duran isn't that good. Did that far too often last year, need to cut that shit out. Can't be relying on the pitching staff to hold 1 run leads all year again.

Duran is one of the best prospects in the Twins organization. He has a big future.

Good game. You guys got a good one in Ray. Signing an ace in his prime is something that I wish my team would do. Further proof that good pitching almost always beats good hitting, especially early in the season.

Hoping for a fun series here!

How did they look today? My KIRO app messed up during the top the 4th so I couldn’t listen. Finally got it working and Goldsmith sounded like he was giving a eulogy in post game.

Ray was good. Didn't have his best stuff but pitched out of trouble and held the Twins to one run in seven innings, just what you need from your ace. Offense was 0'fer w/RISP. Just one game, but obviously scoring 2 runs in the first and trying to make that hold up is not the recipe for a playoff team.

Seemed like Ray was crusing, France doing the France thing of getting hit by a pitch. But couldn’t tell much on Kelenic or JRod and couldn’t tell on how Ray looked because Goldsmith kept drooling over Correa and Buxton.

Jrod had a dribbler on his first AB, then struck out twice and finally flew out on a fairly routine ball. He was fed a steady diet of off speed pitches. He didn't look as awkward has Kelenic did when he came up. I'm sure he will settle in.

He had a few fielding chances and didn't have any crazy asks, but also didn't fuck any up. So there's that.

Cal had a pretty good first game, collected a hit, walked twice and was pretty solid behind the plate.
5-7 has to do better then 0-12 with 7ks. But it’s only 1 game so it can only get better.

Ray probably had his c or b stuff today and still went 7 giving up 1. That’s nuts

Geno looked good at third but horrible at the plate, happy to see Toro stepping in at third in game two; his bat was fire during spring training.

So stoked to have ball back and even happier I didn't have to listen to Goldsmith lol

If M's want a good utility guy, they should look at getting Luis Arraez from the Twins. That guy is a pest and has great bat control and plays infield and some outfield. ,314 lifetime hitter in 867 AB's with a 87/88 walk to K rate. Just turned 25 today.

Gilbert of 2022 looks a lot like Gilbert of 2021. Good arm, no consistent secondary pitches, throws 100 pitches in 4 innings.

Right now he's looking a lot more like late season 21 than around his call up. May have a rough inning or two, but settled in well and has strung together several easy innings and having players look awkward in some of their swings.

I will give you that. He tightened up retiring the final 10 hitters. It will always come down to his secondary stuff and if he can control it. The arm is there.

Here, let me see if I can spark JRod: He is over swinging.
