I really want KC to be our QB. I hope this is true, but I will take a wait and see approach. Don't just dismiss the rumors because KC says so.

This could be genuine and it could just as easily be just more smoke and mirrors by KCs side in an attempt to not tarnish his "good guy image" and overall value. After all, the rumor of a "demand to be traded" or "not signing a LTD with Allen" has been out there for days, going on a week. Yet he hasn't responded up until now...he has a twitter I'm sure .. why let it get this out of hand.

I just want to point out that gkekoa quoting the same source he originally slammed as fake news is high comedy.

There 's no such thing as fake news, there are only stories you dont like that dont agree with your particular position.

The source was someone in a shoe store.

Fake news, poor reporting, reaching for a story .... it happens. It happens multiple times every day. Trying to figure out what is true and what is not seems like a good idea to me. Then you don't go running around overreacting to every thing reported as news by an unnamed source.

Seriously it is kind of funny watching everyone react to each report as if it was the Gospel according to St. Peter. I have seen him traded for 32 number 1s, traded for a kicking tee and two out of date bottles of Gatorade, demanding $400 million, refusing to play well so he can get traded. :L

The source was named. His name is Kirk Cousins. Just because somebody reports it, doesn't make him the source.

I'm trying to remember who ever said he "demanded" a trade. I'm coming up blank. That's what she said.

Cousins doesn't use Twitter that often & rarely talks about football when using it. Why should he feel the need to respond to any of this? He did at this time as part of an interview. No need for him to really do anything at this pt except train, enjoy life & let his agent negotiate with the Redskins.

What PR dept? The only semblance of that is that propaganda spewed by their web-site. They apparently don't interface with the press at all except for a few lines of a tweet or press release.

Cousins: Reached out to gauge Redskins' plans

This is the problem with many of you. You refuse to wait for the facts. Stop believing fake news and inside sources. At least don't read them as fact.

He wants out anyways. Unlikely a deal gets done long term. Sure, things could change, but by all accounts, he wants to play in SF. The Rams are also in play in Goff doesn't work out in 2017.

Here is the original report:

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports Redskins franchise player Kirk Cousins "appealed personally" to owner Dan Snyder for a trade.

Per Mort, Cousins was "basically told not to get his hopes up." The well has been poisoned in Washington, with team president Bruce Allen alienating his franchise quarterback for essentially no reason. The nature of the modern NFL is that you have to pay quarterbacks more than you might sometimes be comfortable with. Whomever ends up replacing Cousins in Washington, this year or next, will almost certainly be a downgrade. The Redskins still can't stay out of their own way. It's a sad state of affairs for what should be a crown-jewel franchise.

There's this, too:

ESPN's Jason Reid reports "former Redskins officials who know Kirk Cousins" have said Cousins doesn't want to be in Washington and would prefer to be franchise-tagged rather than sign a long-term deal.

The sides have made what sounds like zero progress on a long-term deal, and Cousins may be fed up with the way Washington handled negotiations the past two years. The front office clearly didn't believe in Cousins last year, making him prove himself again on a one-year tag, and Cousins answered the bell with a big season. It's fair to wonder if the "former Redskins officials" Reid is referring to is someone from the old Shanahan regime, as then-OC Kyle Shanahan literally "stood on a table" for Cousins when they drafted him. Now the head coach in quarterback-less San Francisco, Shanahan remains enamored with Cousins, who has made it known the feeling is mutual. If Cousins is able to force his way out of D.C., a reunion in Santa Clara would be a good bet.
