Let's lighten things up a little...

from a Buffalo fan's perspective...

You know, a commissioner who was on top of things would provide some sort of compensation for a team for these types of situations where a team drafts a guy and he signs as a free agent with another team. However, the NHL has a guy in charge who doesn't have a freakin' clue.

That all said, Fox was part of a package that landed the Flames Lindholm and Hanifin, so the Flames made out okay (the other parts of the package were Dougie Hamilton and Micheal Ferland). Carolina then traded Fox's rights to the Rangers as that was the only team that Fox would sign with. Kinda crazy that Carolina has none of those players still in their organization while Lindholm and Hanifin are very key components of the Flames.

Teams know what they're getting into with college draftees.

What would the compensation be for a lost third round pick anyway? Another third round pick? If you remove Fox from the equation the only third round picks the Flames have taken since the 04 lockout to play more than 25 games are Dustin Boyd, Brandon Prust and Lance Bouma lol

Well, it's a start and an asset that can be used. I joked about Corinato scoring his first goal for Harvard this past weekend and he was a 1st round pick by the Flames, if he signs with another team, then they should send a 1st round pick to the Flames. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

Just abolish the draft. Let players sign wherever whenever the hell they want.

Sens: “We’re ready to compete this year. The rebuild’s over!”

Also Sens: losing 5-1 to the winless Hawks.

Guess they missed the memo to completely bury these fucks.
