Eichel.

I feel like his frustration has been growing for a while whereas AM seems pretty chill most of the time, especially when he can do some cool cellies and make the dramatic faces that that TSN/Sportsnet seem to love so much!!
Have you noticed his mustache?

/ok, Eichel or McDavid? Assuming Edmonton toilets again soon (they will, don’t worry dash)...

Call me crazy, but the Canadian teams (except for Edmonton and Winnipeg) are really terrible of late.

Montreal’s been alright and don’t look now but Ottawa’s only 5 pts out of a WC spot lol

I'd say there is a snow ball's chance in hell that Ottawa finishes within 10 points of a playoff spot. That being said, I'm gladly eating a little bit of crow on the DJ Smith hiring. He's got them working hard and playing an appealing style of hockey. He has weird attachments to random vets but nowhere near as badly as Boucher did. Hainsey has been pretty bad. Ennis is OK as long as he doesn't play too far up the lineup (he has been doing this a little). Zaitsev has been fine but shouldn't be playing with Chabot anymore. And Connor Brown has been fantastic. Never stops hustling and can skate really well. Not too much finish but a really nice player.

But Smith has brought along guys like Chlapik and Paul really well. Logan Brown has been given a nice chance too and Duclair seems to have found his niche under Smith.

Overall I'm pretty happy with the coaching. The talent on the blue line is razor thin and there isn't much high end skill up front but the staff has them playing to their limited strengths. They get an A grade from me at the quarter pole.

Wild cards for me regarding Ottawa is 1) Nilsson’s been good in net and a hot goal we can take you far, and 2) they have a lot of assets they can trade if there’s an opportunity.

The fact that the Atlantic is pretty open right now has to at least put that thought in Dorion’s head if they get closer.

“Save of the century” as they put it was Holtby against Vegas in SC finals. Guess they’re trying to forget that save :dhd:

you spit on a guy as the referee is holding on to you.
what would the possible logic for an appeal be?

"well he made me mad what with all of the the face-punching."

Yeah, Ottawa's playing some decent hockey as of late. Hope they keep it up. Playoffs may still be out of the ? though.

While I certainly don't condone spitting on someone and I kinda understand why there's an automatic suspension rule in place I do find it a little odd that punching someone in the head is deemed preferable by the league. If you're thinking about punching me in the head unexpectedly please, by all means, go ahead and spit instead

Licking an opponent's face gets a warning, but spitting in an opponent's face gets 3 games. I guess the spit is greater than the lick.

What if you punch a guy in the head first and then spit on him? What if you have a dip in when you spit on him? What if your spit lands somewhere other than the dude's face - the head isn't the principal point of contact anymore.

What if you lick and spit on a chip that you double dipped?!?
