Carolina's an incredibly good defensive team - they allow the 3rd fewest shots per game in the league this season and were 2nd in that category last season. Any replacement-level goalie should be able to win a majority of games in such a system, which is what Reimer is and what he is doing.

Which is why Carolina should definitely have been more aggressive in the goalie market last fall - put a high-calibre goaler in net and they're probably the best team in the league.

Also, know I'm biased but unless he falls off a cliff I can't imagine Tavares not getting the call over at least Horvat and ROR and likely Barzal and Suzuki?
