Oilers allowed 52 shots to a team playing on back-to-back nights. Sure they won courtesy of McWonderful, but that's not going to happen every night.

Never been more conflicted on a goal.

One one hand, this is a dumbass kid who doesn't backcheck, won't block shots, turns the puck over constantly, gets beat one on one all the time AND nearly threw his career away over a bar fight (which he skipped a court date for yesterday) and he is arrogant enough to try that shit.

On the other - fuckin a! Quali snipe dude.

Upping the trade bait factor?

Speaking of disappointing guys, Wenny has actually had a good start to the season.

Yeah, all summer I was thinking Sonny was negative value in trade and Wenny was gonna get us the biggest bang.

Now we might actually get something equal for Sonny and we'd be out of our minds to trade Wennberg.

I don't know if all teams do it, but the Blue Jackets spend a whole day at rookie camp over the summer going over financial planning, living on their own, how to grocery shop, make meals, etc. Seems like a small thing but when you realize these guys have never learned basic skills and suddenly have all this money heaped on them it becomes pretty critical. Honestly, surprised more of these stories don't happen.

Good luck Donald.
Not quoting all of the subsequent posts since there are a lot of them, but an important thing to figure in this too is that somewhere around 1/4 of the players in the NHL are foreign-born, so a lot of them are having to deal with completely new things that I don't think the parents can be blamed for not teaching them.

For example, writing checks hasn't been a thing in Sweden for 30 years.

On top of that, you've got guys in their teens and early 20s moving over here who barely speak English and may be living in a city like NY or Toronto, so there's definitely going to be a degree of culture shock and being confronted with things that their parents couldn't possibly prepare them for.

I can speak from my own experience as a professional moving to Sweden in my late 20s where most of the people speak excellent English. But some things were difficult still, such as opening a bank account and even figuring out what I was buying in the grocery store (definitely asked for help a few times at the store), not to even get into how to cook it.

Clarification, McPhee said he was told that Zykov has been taking the same "supplements" for 4 years, which is slightly different. He could have gotten them from a new vendor that includes the banned substance.

But still, odd that he is so quick to throw the player under the bus. Especially since this not the first time it's happened. Guess the team wants to distance itself from the drugs in Vegas talk.
