Thank goodness we got a deal done with Carlson this past offseason. The guy contributes in every aspect of the team. And there isn't a player on the team more engaged with DC itself than Carlson. His leadership is very underrated.

Partly because he has the cahones to say this to Ovechkin regarding the power play... "He’s getting a little less snobby with it, in my opinion. Obviously, I’d like to say that it’s me, but I think he’s starting to realize that it doesn’t always have to be perfect for him to do some amazing things with it. ... Maybe he doesn’t feel 100 percent confident in shooting it every time, but now he knows that if it’s a little bit this way or this way, instead of just corralling it and resetting it and doing the same thing all over again 15 seconds later, he can make a very high-danger play.”

Grapes showed him some love this past Saturday night on Coach's Corner - To think he went to Russia to play when he couldn't come to terms on a deal with the Flames about 10 years ago, the guy has been incredible this season.

Maurice Richard has a trophy named after him (and rightfully so), so I propose re-naming the divisions as follows:

Atlantic - Howe
Metro - Lemieux
Central - Orr
Pacific - Gretzky
