The funny thing is that the announcer probably thought he was sounding all learned and informed while making his joke there. But the Bowling Green that plays D1 hockey is actually the Ohio one, not the one in Kentucky.

You are correct sir and good on you for clarifying that item - Also, it allows me to present the following:

Haha I'm not certain but I actually think there's more than two, so it's a natural mistake.

The thing is that the joke still works anyway in a malaproppy sort of way, I just doubt he knew it was a different Bowling Green. I didn't hear him so I have no idea about the tone.

There are certainly some confusing college names out there. I didn't know what to think when I found out there was an Indiana University... of Pennsylvania

I can't wait for Tryamkin to start eating villagers.
He's looks like he's finally enjoying destroying people.

the video looks like Gagner thought he was witnessing the Cloverfield monster climb down from the stands
BFG literally stares him down too, determines he’s no longer a threat, moves on to someone else.
Hilarious stuff.

Not the kind of mistake you want to make during a job interview for a business in KY.

/got the job despite the faux pas

What a pass by stecher. Nice finish by willies son

FAKE NEWS! Jackets won 37-0

My son played a game at Bowling Green (OH) earlier this year and they have a mural on the hallway down to the lockers depicting all the NHLers that played there. Quite a history. Ken Morrow, Rob Blake, Gary Galley, George McPhee, Mike Liut. And, well, Dan Bylsma.

I was pretty surprised, actually. Just didn't realize it.

Lived here 14 years, and this is the closest we have come to a massacre

Rodeo bulls run loose in Bowling Green

This is the only Bowling Green Massacre I am aware of:

more from the provies

Gagner did end up circling back to Tryamkin which honestly had to be the worst decision of the night, even if Gagner made sure the ref was attached to him.

I know that first gif didn’t look good, but just take the L, live another day.

Instead, BFG was trying to wreck him with uppercuts

I'm really starting to dislike Morgan Rielly.

This is actually related to something that I wouldn't mind discussing in the Leafs thread. Top unit defenseman. Is one absolutely needed? If the answer is "yes", what's the plan?

I'm surprised Friedman and Simmons aren't friends. All this guy did was quote Friedman's radio hit. Didn't create any rumours, put the full quote in where Friedman said clearly "a trade I'd like to see made". When did he get so sensitive?

If you don't sympathize with Friedman you have no soul.

Dreger did an AMA.

NiggnaciousEDM - NHL 1 point 49 minutes ago

Next Canadian team to win the cup?

Darren_Dreger[S] 8 points 26 minutes ago

Edmonton. Cue the wave of angry reaction from Leafs nation!

I'm thinking less "Grrrr" from Leaf fans and more ":pound:" from fans of every team.

No surprise, Dreger is from Saskatchewan which is predominately Oilers fans.

/Also no surprise, Dreger is dumb.

Just my opinion, but the Leafs are closer to the Stanley Cup at this moment than the Oilers. Everybody points to McDavid and he's a fantastic player no doubt, but the real MVP of the Oilers is Talbot.

And the MVP of the Leafs is Andersen, IMO. I don't like either team's defense but they've got some awesome young forwards.

Montreal got a win last night but it was a win in overtime and they still gave up 4 goals. They have a few days off coming up soon. Hopefully Price will use those days to get himself back into form.

Andersen's been hit or miss. If there were 3 finalists he'd be among them but Matthews and Marner have been unreal. Matthews gets it for me because of his two-way play.

Like Kenny said, neither team's defence is impressive. Both have a lot of bottom 6 holes, too. I'd say both teams are at the same stage in terms of being close to a Cup but neither are anywhere near contention.

I'd say it's one of Ottawa or Montreal that is closest (double vomit) but unless one of their GM's peels off the safety film and trades assets to go for it while the window is open neither is getting past the conference final and the only reason either of them would be there is because the Atlantic is a shit-fuelled barn fire and the NHL's playoff structure is ridiculous.

I also think if the Flames ever got their hands on a goalie they could make some noise.
