Brandon Saad available?

#Torts #provenwinner

From EF's 30 thoughts:

Point 1) "Healthy Scratch" means nothing in the logical sense here in Columbus.
Point 2) No sense in trading him for cap relief because the only thing they need back is a true #1C who will surely cost more
Point 3) That's a guaranteed grab in expansion if they are really done with him allowing them to protect others they like
Point 4) Torts is going through his midlife crisis. Saad will be a favorite in a matter of weeks.

Sharks need some scoring. Saad would look a hell of a lot better next to Couture than Boedker.

Sharks could dangle Timo Meier, especially if the Jackets take back a couple of contracts to make it happen.

Taylor Hall out 3-4 weeks with torn meniscus, tough break for a Devils team that's hot. Better now than in March I suppose.

Don't worry, hall can injure himself in March too.

Seriously though, that's a tough break. You guys have been playing old school Devils hockey lately. Which is to say you're winning.

Question from last night's Oilers/Ducks game:

Katy Perry was standing at the top of the blue paint and made a save/blocked a shot that was a sure goal with John Gibson out of position. How is this recorded - Perry didn't get a blocked shot on the play - did Gibson get credit for a save he didn't have to make or is this one of those plays that isn't a shot attempt, nor a blocked shot nor a save?

I believe it should have been credited to Perry as a blocked shot. It probably just didn't get recorded that way at first because Perry is a pansy and the stats guy couldn't believe he'd actually done something that didn't involve a cross check in the back. :thumb:

What a bad night for injuries last night. Stamkos, Gaudreau and Hall all gone long term. Not good for hockey to see 3 of your top players out long term like this.

The Pens mocked the Caps lack of Cup banners in a Twitter post tonight. The Caps comeback saying they missed a banner was pretty brilliant...

Is it the Worst Conference now?

Only 5 teams in the Western Conference have a positive goal differential.
