The puck stopped anyway, just before he shot it (the second time). It should have been waved off whether fanning on a shot is considered an attempt or not.

Today's weird narrative: the Matthews and Laine "rivalry".

Maybe this is lost on me, but how would two guys who don't even play in the same conference, let alone division, develop a rivalry with each other? Unless we get a Toronto-Winnipeg Cup Final (LMAO) these two will never play each other more than twice a year.
