I would also add... why are you acting like Halak is completely finished? He's the same age as Greiss and has an excellent playoff resumé.

He was. Roloson had a few good years too post-Edmonton run. Even had another playoff run with Tampa 5 years ago.

Those examples are few and far between. Like I said, maybe Greiss is the answer. More likely he isn't.

I mean, there are enough sample size issues when looking at playoff data in the first place without whittling it down even further.

You know what the difference between Murray's .895 SV% Conference Finals win and Griess's second round loss is? Less than one save.

As was my whole point though, you don't need him to be as good as Thomas was to win. So yeah, I don't disagree that it's pretty unlikely that he's Thomas. I just don't think they necessarily need that to win.

Which of those team results was his fault?

Murray has never even played a game save the run this year. I mean, how we can count one bad series as meaningful for Greiss and cast aside an entire good playoffs for Halak?

Murray has never even played a game save the run this year.

I'm not measuring Murray up to anybody here. All I said is Murray's sv% remained level over an extra ten games compared with Greiss.
