Kinda an odd choice, seeing how much young forward talent is there already. Fully expected him to go to Philly...but not upset that he didn't. Guess it's just a bit odd to see talent willingly going there.

It's not that hard a decision for Drake - he has a chance to play alongside someone who could win the Art Ross as soon as next season. That is going to do wonders for him contract-wise if he can capitalize on it.

College kids are one thing, but if Edmonton can start attracting decent UFA's they actually might have a shot to finally break out of this (glorious) nightmare.

I think Edmonton could have a bright future. Mcdavid seems like the real deal. The #4 pick could land them a stud defenseman which they need big time.

I think many teams' boards are going to have many players after 3 all over the place but I can't see any team having a defenceman that high on their board. If Edmonton decides they have enough forwards they would be bigger idiots than we all assume if they didn't trade the pick for defensive help.

The #Sens have held more talks with Boudreau's camp. He did board a flight from Ottawa to Anaheim today.

I would actually be very surprised if there isn't a team in the league with a defenseman 4th (or higher... I know I know, it's fucking blasphemy ) on their board right now. And on a more personal level, if I were an Edmonton fan and the right trade for the pick didn't present itself I'd be satisfied (as of right now) walking out of the draft with Chychrun headlining my draft class. He's very very good, but he's been in the spotlight for a while and people like to flock to what's new and exciting. Just ask the "next Ovechkin"
