Leafs have let a lot of pretty good players walk away in order to keep the pretty bad ones. Of the remaining playoff teams the Pens, Sharks, Isles, Blues and Bolts all have guys the Leafs at some point thought "nah" about and they're for the most part performing or have performed well for their team.

Sadly, I can't recall any teams with 3 ex Leafs in the Final.

Ironically, the Sens had 3 ex-Leafs on their roster this season (Phaneuf, Macarthur, Kostka) and missed the 'offs.
