Just be prepared for the Leafs picking 4th.

Finishing last was always important because it gave us the opportunity to pick the best of the rest. That is more than okay by me - I would gladly take Nylander's baby bro or Tkachuk's kid. It wouldn't even shock me if the Leafs had Tkachuk higher than one of the Finns anyway given Hunter's association with London.

My hopes for 1st are fading, but I am still praying for a top 3. Laine or Puljujarvi will be fine. I just don't want us to get to a position where the smart move is Chychrun.

It's gonna be hard enough getting Werenski ice time with the four horsemen clogging the depth chart (Johnson, Tyutin, Savard, Prout)

Assuming one of Toronto/Edmonton get a top-3 pick, Columbus won't be picking any lower than 5th (assuming they don't pass any teams by Sunday). I don't think there's any draft board with Chychrun or any other defenceman at 5th. The offensive talent available is just too strong.

I just saw the new rankings that have him at 7th and Sergachev 8th. Most early ones had him ~4th. So, not as worried now.

I'd totally take Nylander. That would give the Jackets a healthy old school feel. Rychel, Nylander, Foligno, Savard, Campbell, Bourque, Ramage, Quenneville (Joel's nephew Peter is in Lake Erie). If they could get Jared Tinordi, Max Domi and Connor Murphy... GOLD

Plus, we have a Forsberg.

If Drouin plays in final two TB regular season games, he gets an accrued season counting towards UFA status but TB not concerned with that.
