Meh. He was (or should have been) always a project. He was so underdeveloped when drafted that it was always going to take a while.

He's just put up a nice season in NCAA so may the Flames feel he's ready to benefit from some pro coaching. 51st overall is basically a nothing asset anyway (something like 20% chance of becoming an NHL regular). Might be worth it if the Flames wanted to take a homerun swing with the 51st and/or wanted to delay paying for a player who has a good chance of never being an NHL contributor. just generally meh I'd say though.

Or maybe the Flames are gambling that someone will give Feaster a GM job somewhere and then Calgary will have the best trading chip (other than actual potato chips) that Feaster could ever overpay for.

Interesting connection - I was (and am still) involved with the high school Mark was drafted out of. I was a student there when they were just getting the hockey program started so pretty exciting to see one of our alum drafted first round years later - even if he doesn't pan out. It's a tiny school but the media attention really helped push the program forward and it's now one of the best programs in Canada - the girl's team even more so.

Don't blame any Calgary fans for having reservations about him, but still a source of pride!

Well Shinky got his first NHL goal which is nice and Gio hits the 20 goal mark (also nice).

/Al MacInnis registered 20+ goals 6 times with the Flames - I know goal scoring was easier back in his day, but man, that's still incredible.

I was curious so I did some quick research... all-time leaders are Potvin and Bourque with 9 seasons, followed by Coffey with 8 and MacInnis, Orr and Housley with 7.

They're followed by a Red Wing defenseman with 6 seasons of 20+. Anyone want to guess?

Wow thats stunning. He could have got 9 20 goal seasons if he had 1,2,3&1 more goal in 4 other seasons
