The difference is that now they piggyback RDS into the blackout too.

And when I look a a SportsNet channel lineup, they are usually different.

in the regular season ... when a sens game was on snet east and a leafs game was on snet ontario and a flames game was on snet west ... those channels were all blacked out for snet pacific ... same diff imo

i dont know how rds was allowed to avoid that distinction in previous years ... probably a "distinct society" thing

I have seen every Montreal game for the last 2 years. French or English.

My viewing will be drastically curtailed.

I have a hard time watching the Canucks.

So last night 3 TSN channels blacked out....

One channel was showing the Leafs home game in the Toronto region, another was showing the Sens home game to 20 people, and the other was showing the Jets home game in the Winnipeg region.

SN did do the same thing with Oilers and Flames (and maybe more but I can't recall right now) games, but TSN used to have a separate channel that only activated in those locals when games were on. I guess now it's using SN's old strategy.

I can certaintly understand the blackout strategy, but I would hope that TSN would show some alternate programming (30 for 30 Soccer stories are always great viewing).

My belief is they will load up on NBA this winter. Those Raptors playoff game ratings put a lot of thoughts into their heads...

More European soccer coverage would be nice. Maybe buy the entire EPL and UEFA package next term and make Sportsnet close that awful ripoff SN World.

dont think the crtc would allow that after disallowing sportsnet from doing it all these years but who knows :noidea:

All the TSN channels must be blacked out (ummm....dark guy in the middle, the white way) on my cable provider. I guess I'll get Center Ice again.

I started out promising on this, but got really lazy about 5 minutes into it.

Hey, it's the preseason for us 'shoppers as well.

All of a sudden, a strong contender emerges for the McDavid sweepstakes.

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
Ryan Ellis's new contract with NSH is for five years with an AAV of $2.5M.

Looks like a bridge contract money wise, but for a healthy five years.
