The Isles choices were limited but what shortsightedness on the part of the owners of the Barclay's Center. Why make an arena that isn't suited for hockey? Especially when you knew there was a good chance a local team would be looking for a new home.

I feel like Islander fans are just going to complain and complain for the next 5 years and make life miserable at Barclays with the hope they'll move back to Nassau.

Whom do you trust, JJ or the cousin of Dave Nonis?

According to a source involved in Tuesday's discussions, his "sense" is, if the NHL cast a vote today, the majority of club owners would vote to expand by two teams. Both Las Vegas and Quebec City would be awarded franchises with an attached fee, as commissioner Gary Bettman has publicly acknowledged, in excess of $500 million each.

Ugh. I'm fully prepared for an entire season of mockery about the Isles new 'digs'.

The situation is just odd. I mean, they had to get out of Nassau, but to come to a new place and have these kinds of issues? Man. Obviously it wasn't built for hockey, and even MSG has obstructed view seats, but these in Barclay's are all over. Plenty of seats where you can't see the net at all.

Imagine sitting in that seat in a playoff OT game and the game winner is scored on a net you cannot even see?

Why bother going to a game if this is your view. They should be giving these seats away to homeless people and that's about it.

The entire situation is odd. The sight lines are pathetic and I have not heard one single report on how it's going to be fixed. Say what you will about the Nassau Coliseum but it had some of the best sight lines in hockey.

The Hawks are in a pickle so they have waived Brian Bickell.

The Islanders new arena doesn't look very good does it? Was hoping that a good team that's rising would have their arena issues solved by moving.

Embarrassing. I have OCD and the first thing I noticed was the scoreboard centered over the BLUE LINE!?! What it cost that much and be THAT difficult for an engineer and contractor to come in and put it on a track that would slide it back and forth depending on the event? Looks ridiculous. The entire move, arena and black jerseys are ridiculous.

Furthermore, they tried to install this horrible MTA Train horn for when the Islanders score. The fan base pretty much ripped it to shreds until they agreed to bring over the old horn from Nassau.

"Tradition Has a New Home" is their slogan. Barf.

I guess they feel he's not worth a plugged nickel.

Well the Hawks obviously feel that with Bryan onboard the money was flowing out much faster than a mere trickle.
