Yeah, the Ducks overpaid on Kesler, that's way to much money (37%) to be spending only on 3 players

Did you know that once Kesler's extension kicks in, Perry, Getzlaf, and Kesler will consume 37% of the Ducks cap space?

Here's hoping that Hampus Lindholm or Cam Fowler gets Brandon Saaded in a year or two.

And eventually if guys like Hampus Lindholm continue to get better, they'll have to pay him too

How is Brad Boyes still available? - Article - TSN

I don't know Travis, he's very streaky, not exactly a spring chicken anymore, and is likely asking for too much money?

If a team can develop a young player who can score 20 goals, I think you take that player over Brad Boyes, but someone will take him at some point - he had some good stretches with the Panthers, just put him in a secondary role

Nice. Well done USA Hockey.

AMillion Kids Stopped Playing Baseball. MLBWants to Win Them Back - Bloomberg Business

When I read the headline, I snarkily though "Make it less boring, then". But this paragraph really hits it.

Sports such as soccer and hockey have tried to bring more informal play into formal settings. "Turn over a chunk of your practice, or maybe turn over an entire practice, to the kids themselves and give them simple instructions," says Farrey. In soccer, he says, sometimes coaches set a rule—most goals with the left foot wins—and let the kids run the game with minimal supervision. Hockey's version of this, says Ken Martel, technical director for development at USA Hockey, is "throw all the sticks in the middle like you would when you were out in the pond, make up new teams, and just play four-on-four." Martel and USA Hockey recommend that younger kids spend an hour this way at practice: "No coaching. Just playing."

USA hockey encourages us to spend the last 15 minutes of any practice on a small area game or fun drill that has little to do with hockey. At younger ages "tag" and relay races were big hits. Now at Pee Wee and Bantam we add in team punishment. Your team have a task to accomplish, and the other team's task is to stop you. Whoever is not successful skates a ladder or does pushups. Really gets them into it, and gets them talking and chirping in the room. By the end of the season, I just have the kids throw a glove into the net. I pick one out, and whoever it belongs to decides on the game. We just stand aside and watch the chaos. Leave the ice smiling is something they really push into our heads.

I do believe that is a big factor in why we have so many kids come back year after year.

Well, that and the game is fucking awesome.

is that correct? u basing it on a 71.4 shmill cap for 2016-17 next season? If so its "only" 33.2%

/if you add Kevin Bieksa into the equation its 38.8% :)

regardless ... all this leads to the question for Bob Murray
Did you know that the canadian dollar closed yesterday at a post recession low of 77.40 cents US

I despise all 3. Just sticking with the devil I know, even if he's done jack shit for Ontario despite the fact if it weren't for Ontario he wouldn't have had a majority for the past 4 years.

In a perfect world, Tom Mulcair is a moderate and is PM for the next decade. I think he's 10x smarter than the other two but is in charge of the looniest party of em all.

Or Bobby Ryan'ed.
Ducks got a good return on Bobby Ryan - Silfverberg, Stefan Noesen and Nick Ritchie.

Now all they need is a reliable goalie to take the next step and make the Kesler signing not as hideous as it currently looks. The 3tard signing seem like the big mistake, but he did had Sbisa as a partner part of last year so I'll wait until the Ducks lose in a game seven next year before I can make a call on the moves.

They did, as did the Hawks on Saad.

Probably showing my age again, but I have no idea what those tweets even mean.
One Dallas Star is asking another Dallas Star if he enjoys cunnilingus, and the other Dallas Star replies positively.

Not sure about the young part, though - Benn's 26 and Demers is 27 and have been in the league for a combined 14 seasons.

You have to be careful, if you don't do it right, you'll lose your golf clubs, right Graham DeLaet?
