Yeah, they get a week to talk to players but they're apparently not allowed to discuss specific number *nudge* *nudge* *wink* *wink*

Yeah, they added that clause into the new CBA - Teams can start talks a week prior to July 1 now.

The NHL contracted with the NSA to help them out.

Only way they would possibly know is if teams/players did it via phone and the league felt suspicious of something and wanted to go through their phones

Otherwise, if it's a meet and greet I don't know how you can enforce it - there are ways to get around it
