2 were. There were 6 goals, one an EN. 3 others came from the point and he was lost. The team is shit, but sometimes the goalie is just as shit, just like sometimes some players who are usually shit have a good game. In that game, Reimer was shit.

I'm bored with hearing about and going over the team's problems. If Shanahan has half a peanut for a brain they're getting blown up, starting at the deadline. If not, it's going to be a long time before I care about Leaf hockey again. Praying to god they go winless in January.

The reality is that he outplayed the guy in the other net (Luongo). If that somehow makes the loss "his fault" then I'm a Christmas tree.

Guess you missed in my original post you replied to where I said "But while I'm not going to pin the loss on him...". Nobody is saying the loss is his fault, just that he wasn't that great. What that has anything to do on how Robooby played is beyond me.

Gotta wonder how Dutter would handle it if his team got a delay of game penalty when Quick kicks the posts off, being such a stickler for the letter of the law and all...

He would turn his face to the stands and make babies cry while claiming he knows nothing!

Luongo played very badly and his team bailed him out. Notice how that seems to never happen with the Leaf goalies?

For CBus' sake, gotta hope this year isn't simply a career year.

It is. They signed him for what he brings to the locker room more than the ice. The goals are just a nice bonus.

Realistically, he's a 20 goal scorer who can play in any situation. If he starts chipping in 30 or more, that's just fine.

Some times I forget what $5M gets these days...and blame Ryan Callahan for this new "character, grit, PAY ME ALL THE MONEY" thing.

Yeah, it is what it is.

I would have loved it to be less (More to pay Bob), but if they are going to overpay, I am okay with them overpaying him.

I expect he'll get the C on his chest before long. Him or Dubinsky, and he's done way more than Dubi has this year.

Ultimately, it's not like you paid Alex Semin $7/5yr. It may at some point tighten the purse strings a bit, but it won't cause major strife. Which is basically the goal in the modern NHL. Occasionally you'll get a good value deal, but when you're re-sign a guy it's not as likely to get major value/$$, so the goal is to at least break even, or as close as you can.

Hmmm, where have I heard this type of reasoning by an organization before?

If Beau Bennett gets hurt again, someone better keep a close eye on the kid's mental health. He's getting very clearly bitter about his injury trouble.

And his New Year's resolution is, and I quote, "To play ten games in a row." Ouch.
