I like your beard.
Jarmo and JD need to grab the entire coaching and training staff by the scruffs of their necks and drag them into a room and let them fight it out until someone can produce a credible explanation.
One can be expected. Maybe two. Three if a freakish run of bad luck.
EIGHT? Somebody is doing something wrong.
It's supposed to. But players who cannot play through their own fault are also supposed to count against the cap.
It depends on what the specific cause is, but for that...I'm thinking sports hernia? Or something similar at the very least. The cause of such things by the book: powerful, twisting motions; overuse of upper thigh/lower abdominal muscles. Basically a tear in the lower abdominals and upper groin. The basic MOI is...well...hockey stuff. My guess is it's overuse, excessive twisting/sprint skating. However, I'd think after maybe three I'd sit back and say "time for a preventative program!" And that's why you have a strength and conditioning team. I highly doubt there's anything the coaches are doing in practice in Columbus that is far from the norm in any other city in the NHL, so it comes down to preventative programs. Any other abdominal surgery one would have would probably be a similar cause anyway. It's not too uncommon in hockey, but again, preventative programs exist.
