Bobby Mac reporting that Pronger will be allowed to be on LTIR in addition to having his spot. If the rule didn't exist to prevent cap circumvention I'd be okay with it...but when teams sign guys to these long term deals they do it knowing what the potential risk is. It's complete utter crap. He can't toe the company line and work for the NHL. Sorry, Gar-bear.

So the person in charge of dishing out punishment to players is stll receiving a paycheck from one of the teams in the league. A team that has no cap penalty for signing a joke of a contract.

Also, an Oilers jersey did hit the ice at the final buzzer. That. Is. Awesome.

Is that the one the Leafs wanted for their centenary? If so, that is quite the slap in the dick to MLSE.

On the other hand, the All Star Game just takes away a good weekend of hockey and should never be hosted anywhere ever.

That's the year. Might be the Leafs get the outdoor game instead.

I used to enjoy the skills competition but I feel like the coverage for the past 3 or 4 has been so terrible, they try to get too cutesy and fancy with the camera angles etc. that it takes away from everything. Example, during the trick shot competition, don't film directly behind the shooter, you can't see what moves he's making. During the speed skating don't zoom straight in on on the skater's face/upper body, zoom out so we can see how fast they're going.

Don't forget the Devils and Kovalchuk's deal.

I hope the NHL takes a page out of the NFL's book and hires an independent investigation into it. Headed by, let's say, Jeremy Jacobs.
