I often think about what it would be like if Lou wasn’t the GM when the Leafs pitched to Stammer as a UFA.

I know they probably don’t get JT (which, despite what morons say was still a massive get for this team and he’s been great almost start to finish) but hard to argue Stamkos hasn’t been insane value for money throughout that contract and continues to be one of the game’s best goalscorers.

Maybe Kadri doesn’t lose his shit twice and him and Stamkos tear shit up for years. Leafs can afford to trade Nylander for a true 1D. They make it to the second round. Dreams.
