And nothing for Mathieu Olivier - Maybe it's time for Huska to blast the league :noidea:

Picked up a lot of draft capital in this one.

2024-Nov-30 Traded from Columbus Blue Jackets to Minnesota Wild for Daemon Hunt, conditional round 1 pick in the 2025 draft, round 3 pick in the 2026 draft, round 4 pick in the 2026 draft and round 2 pick in the 2027 draft

If Jiricek has something stopping him from being good this is a great deal.

If he’s a 1RD in the next 24 months it’s a fleecing by Minny and everyone asks why the hell CBJ flipped him for scraps.

Be good for Columbus if they can turn all the draft capital into something useful near-term.

Jiricek just isn't improving in his skating and has an attitude that he's NHL ready and looks down on the AHL so he doesn't work when he's there. The org had the same conversation with Kent Johnson late last year and he has come in like a house on fire. I still think Jiricek can be good, and I hope Minny can get through to him. But my gut feel is that he's gonna peak at a 3-4 D man at best and could be out of the league in 5-6 years. Which is better than if he went to Edmonton, he'd straight up implode there. Minny is a good fit for him. Vancouver would have been good for him too. NYR or Philly would be a disaster.

It will be interesting to see if the Jackets do anything now or wait. I would expect a move with Provorov at 50% retained at the deadline for another 1st rounder which can be used to move up, or gain the rights to a pending UFA if they think they can sign them. We have gobs of cap space too, so we can get more draft capital facilitating moves for some teams too. Waddell apparently was after Necas this past summer, so I wonder what he'll look for. A little worried about the numbers Rantanen is talking about, but he'd be a big fish to land. I wouldn't mind Ehlers either.

Mateychuk looks like a star, and if Ceulemans can get going we should be strong on D for a while.

I’m surprised Corey Perry couldn’t crack the top ten.

Oilers diving? The hell, you say

Wasn't Skinner praised for his skating prowess when he was drafted? Something about figure skating and balance etc.

If that's true and I am remembering correctly he sure has a hell of a problem staying on his skates/feet

Meanwhile, I can see Igor channeling this classic Gump Worsley answer...
