And before the innocent before guilty folks chime in, Zverev was fined by a German court which basically means they reviewed the evidence and found the claims credible. Zverev has denied all allegations.

CNN —
German tennis star Alexander Zverev has been given a penalty order and fined €450,000 ($478,000) by a Berlin court after being accused of physical abuse against a woman, according to a court statement.

Zverev is accused of “physically abusing and damaging the health of a woman during an argument in Berlin in May 2020,” according to the statement.

Zverev has denied the allegations and has lodged an objection against the penalty order, meaning the case will now go to a Berlin district court and “the presumption of innocence applies until a final conviction,” the statement read.

Whoa!!!

Are they going to schedule hearings around his matches? Because otherwise it'll be a real pain in the neck for him!!

It's just incredible to me that he's still allowed to play with all this stuff hanging over his head. He could end up winning the Aussie Open (currently in the semi-finals) and be sentenced to prison in the same year.

Sounds familiar.

It's just incredible to me that he's still allowed to run with all this stuff hanging over his head. He could end up winning the POTUS race (currently in the primaries) and be sentenced to prison in the same year.

Getting back to expansion, I sure wouldn't mind seeing the return of the Nordiques. I know the league has no interest in the Quebec City market, but that Habs - Nords rivalry was fantastic.
saw a Nordiques uni in Costco. Man it sure was nice looking.

Now would be a good time to retire Gary

Worst commissioner of the four major NA sports and it's not even close. Strangest thing to me is still how much credit some Flames fans give him for the assistance program that helped out Canadian teams in the late 90's, sure that was a good move, but do you honestly think another person in the commissioner role wouldn't have done something along the same lines? Didn't stop Winnipeg and Quebec City from losing their teams, four work stoppages during his tenure, the list goes on and on...

Not a good look Pierre, some more serious items are at the forefront, not this Utah pipe dream...

I wonder if it will ever come out how much NHL franchises knew/know about the culpability of these players. Outside of Formenton there has been no action from NHL teams and the Formenton situation is very unofficial.

If it comes out that they knew what went on and let these players play right up until the law stepped in, that is a terrible look for the NHL and the individual teams.

has there ever been a GM with as eventful a first year as Briere?
