That may have factored into it, but I honestly think he thinks the league is coming down especially hard on him when other guys have had equally questionable hits that have received much less from a supplementary discipline perspective.

/If this is going to be the new way the DOPeS operate, I'm fine with it, but as I said earlier, I think it's just going to revert to a slap on the wrist in short order.

It does kind of annoy me that the NHLPA is all about protecting a player's paycheck here. What about the other player's brain? Doing anything to protect that?

With the shit that Wilson, Trouba and others have gotten away with, this is harsh. But realistically, it would be an appropriate punishment. A real deterrent. We just want consistency. Lowering this punishment isn't going to do that. Appropriately punishing others is what we should try.

VGK has a Friday game this week @ 3:00 PM PDT. Friday is a state holiday so schools and a lot of places are closed and the Knights have made this an annual thing.
