I just love that of the 5 worst futures only one hasn't won a cup since walkmans existed.

While a down cycle sucks, having a cup or three makes it bearable.

yup.. I would happily cheer for my team even if it was on the worst lists if we had just one.

Isles have a stud goalie in his prime signed long-term, strong blue line that isn't 30 yet and at least a few OK forwards. Teams have made the finals with less.

Caps are preparing for post-Ovie even while still having Ovie.

TB can just trade everyone and retool in like 2 years given their advantages.

Little confused about Detroit being on the bright future list given they just keep signing old vets to bad deals & have nothing behind the blue line outside Seider.

How isn't Winnipeg in a "dark future" spot? Or Calgary?

How are the Sharks not in the bad column? I think they are going to be bad for several years

I think they just got overlooked. They are so bad people just forget they’re in the league, lol

I understand they’re talking long-term here but I could see at least three teams on the brighter side missing the playoffs this upcoming season and three teams on the darkest side actually making the playoffs this season.

Damn. Talk about missed opportunities,

Also, lol
Lucic also spoke to the Chicago Blackhawks before they acquired winger Nick Foligno as protection for the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, Connor Bedard.

Me now: "Wow, dodged a bullet. Phew thank god."

Me in 5 mins.: "Fuck, that means our new GM is an oaf who actually wanted Lucic."

Me in late April 2024: "OF COURSE LUCIC SCORES THE FUCKING G7 OT WINNER AFTER INJURING MATTHEWS IN GAME 2"

Erik Karlsson presser yesterday…

"I was very excited about the opportunity to go somewhere I could be on a team where we're contending,"

…but I guess Pittsburgh will have to do.

And in typical fashion the Penguins have a big fat zero.

2 in the top ten and 4 in the top 50?

Hells yeah! I might be able to argue Ceulemans should also be in the top 50 but it's probably close around #50. I am also glad that they didn't include Dumais or Malatesta. Yes both had amazing seasons in the Q but it's the Q. Some Jackets fans are penciling both into the hall of fame. I saw one who said that Dumais gets a few years under his belt and we can trade Laine or Johnny for assets. If either one had gotten included it would be awful out here in kool-aid land.
