My pie in the sky outdoor game would be one played on a glacial mountain lake with no fans in attendance lol will never happen but would be visually stunning
Mine would be if they played a regulation game at Rockefeller Plaza during Christmas time.

looks kinda like a glacial mountain lake to me :thumb: lol

/ the house teams in the association my son plays at go to the Winthrop Washington tournament which is played on an outdoor rink. I watched video of the u18s win gold last week. Mesmerizing scenes ... made more mesmerizing by the post whistle brawl featuring kids leaving the bench to fight :pound:

Pretty sure my beer league team is looking at trying to do a tournament there

Logistics are a bit of a pain but the scenery is gorgeous

the guys I play hockey with used to go up to Big White (Kelowna, BC) for an outdoor tournament regularly.

another guy i skate with sometimes invited me to go to a tourney on North Korea. I declined that one.
I am way too dirty of a player. worried "slashing" might yield a bit more that 2 minutes

Yah ive talked to a couple parents of kids on that team and the drive wasnt pleasant. Their tournament was mid December so youre going through mountain passes. They encountered a foot of new snow. Organizers told them snow tires werent enough and they may need to use chains which is what a couple families had to do.

They went through Leavenworth which is a German xmas winter town so that somewhat shifted their fear to joy lol

I've been to that town, it's a fun little place once you get the thought of German prison camps out of your mind :D

What should have happened this year. Instead of an awful outdoor game. Use the outdoor experience for that god awful 4 nations cup.

I think we were looking at renting a couple of vans and piling the team into them

I’ll let a manlier man figure out that part and drive me there, lol

3 in the top 15 in the division is crazy and not something I would have expected.

Can't help but wonder where Johnny would be.

Also didn't realize that Protas was playing that well. He tore us up when we played them, but good to see the kid looking good.

The kid is something else.
Was he good? The numbers looked good but I didn't see any of the game. He looked really good the other day

He was excellent again tonight, I know it's early, but the Habs might have a keeper.

Push the button Donnie. He's better than ZAR and Labanc combined.
