At least Elway made it to 5 SB's and the 3 he lost the NFC was just so superior in those years. Like you said 9 1 and dones when your # either a 1 or 2 seed playing low seed at home

Careful Sonny, cd has already ordered his SB Champs T's, hats and marked his Parade spot.....

That's cool I'm still sporting my 19-0 tshirt. But Denver has a great D and some weapons on offense that they can pull it off. Hell Tebow advanced with Denver with a team half as good

Not to mention, he beat the lowly Bears and the Elite Rex Grossman at qb....He should've got a special ring for that great feat huh ?.....It should say Gift on it though !!

It's still a Super Bowl ring and he still had to get the job done.

True, but it was kinda like beating up someone half your size, nothing you want to brag about..

But beating the great Colin Kaepernick in the Super Bowl is a REALLY impressive feat, right? :rolleyes2:

I guess let's just forget the playoff games before that one that he also had to win to get to that game. Or how about the fact that the Bears were a top-5 defense that year. Or hey let's just forget that the Ravens beat Kaepernick to win their Super Bowl. Yeah he is a real top of the class elite player in this league. I guess we should just ignore that he is about to be benched.

Oldschool you used to be a decent poster. You have been hanging out with Tgann too much and now all you care to do is troll. I wish you would actually want to discuss football like you used to. Always enjoyed those conversations. Pretty sure I just spent 2 pages explaining how I can definitely see the Broncos still even missing the playoffs and yet here you are acting like I'm some blind Homer that thinks my team is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Ignore the fact that I have said nothing of the sort.

Broncos will be 5-0 after this weekend and would need a total meltdown, not to make the playoffs. Even if Manning was to sit out, any serviceable QB would get this team to the playoffs. This D is very opportunistic and can create points for the team

Oh I agree. I'm more just pointing towards Oldschool and Tgann keep trying to make it sound like I am some blind homer that can't see anything wrong with my team. I see plenty wrong and plenty of ways that teams can and at times will beat us. I still do expect the broncos to make the playoffs as most teams that start out 4-0 do just that but once the playoffs come around all bets are off. We could easily be one and done as this team is turnover prone and I still haven't seen this defense against an elite QB. I'm guessing we stand a chance of running into one of those at some point during the playoffs. I also have no clue what type of QB we will have at really any point this season. Manning has shown glimpses of that old elite QB that just outsmarts everybody on the field but then he has made some rookie mistakes that I just haven't seen of him since he has been in Denver other than his first few games back in 2012 when he was still learning the new offense.

Obviously Manning can't carry a very good O and a great D but Flacco can carry a so so team, got it

What are you talking about? We already saw this defense beat the super elite Joe Flacco! He beat Colin Kaepernick in the Super Bowl, it doesn't get more elite than that!

This is their schtick. You try and talk football, but instead of talking facts and stats, they deflect and just want to talk trash about your team. You and I, both, have posted at length about the realities of our teams and the fact that it is a long season. Yet, the only responses they can give are things that have nothing to do with this year, and this moment.

I also love how everyone else is going to tank, in their theory, and yet only the Ravens are going to excel moving forward. All because of a rookie WR who couldn't catch in college and can't get on the field in the NFL, and some random Tight End (who had a whopping 3 catches against the Bengals). I'll agree that the OL should improve with Monroe's return, but the fact of the matter is that you don't need just quality starters along the DL/OL, but quality depth. Something they don't have as the replacement tackle for Monroe is grading out at a whopping -26.2, per PFF, and Wagner not doing a ton better as he looks nothing like he did in 2014.

In the words of Tgann....:pound:

I'm also sure someone will come back and point to Dalton, the playoffs, no wins, etc, etc...and yet none of that has any bearing on what is being said here. The thread is about 1-win teams, of which neither the Bronco's or the Bengals are.

I also don't deny what needs to happen for the Bengals to be taken seriously. Long season, and January's test is the only one that matters for Dalton.

Oh sorry forgot about him. Never mind then this defense has proven itself against elite talent. I mean the Ravens are a big time playoff team and to think otherwise is just ridiculous. So the Broncos have beat a playoff team with an elite QB. I'm sold now on our team. Super Bowl here we come. Just so Tgann and Oldschool don't come back with a "SEE SEE I TOLD YOU THAT YOU ARE A BLIND HOMER" what I just said was said with sarcasm. Hopefully you understand the word sarcasm more than RockStrongo does.

It is true. That is how conversations seem to go. I mean of course the Ravens are the only beat up team that will get these guys back from injury that will all of a sudden play at an All-Pro level. Never mind that plenty of teams have those same hopes going on right now. Heck the Broncos are getting a starter back from suspension that if I am living in Tgann and Oldschools world will take our defense to a level that nobody thought possible.

Oh well I guess just have to let it all play out.

Yep. And the Bengals get back an All-pro at their weakest spot on defense: LB - Burfict. Yeah, a good defense only gets better, but I guess not. No one else is allowed to claim injury or otherwise.

Completely forgot he was coming back. I wanted the Broncos to take a chance on him so bad. Glad he has done well for you guys. You are right though the idea that he could help your team become even better is just homerism at its finest.

Finally a thread about one-win teams, and I still can't participate. Maybe next week.

They were hotter than bacon grease coming into that game beating out Seattle and GB to be there...
The bears were a joke, kinda like PM in the playoffs.....9 one and done's and a 43-8 SB WHOMPING by Seattle...

cd is the one who started this little scrimmage of banter with his dissing the Ravens and Flacco while puffing all up on PM and that D.....
Of course the D can win you some games if they are good enough and they obviously are at this point....
But we know more than most that you can't rely on that every game because with enough 3 and outs, they will get wore out before the game is over and then it's a free run to the end zone....
We'll see as the old man creeks along ,how it all shakes out in the end..
Hey, could be 10 one and done's on the horizon, or a 9-7 miss....I'm just sayin'
