If there was an 8 team playoff yes, but as it stands with 4 teams and 5 p5 conference champs, a strong hell now.College Football Playoff is just another fake way to determine national ‘champion’
"But college football still hasn’t plugged the largest hole in its system: It’s possible to win every game you play and not be the champion of your sport. You just won’t find that in other championship systems."
Agree or disagree? Why?
Basketball, baseball, and every other NCAA sport are vastly different than football. That's not true.
Those top 4 schools are picked by a beauty pageant committee. In basketball, baseball, and every other NCAA sport, any team that is undefeated will absolutely find a spot in the playoff format. And in every other NCAA sport, we have examples of where one of those lesser regarded schools wins!
You see, criteria for power 5 and G5 schools is mainly money. You bet, when a power school has a budget four or ten times bigger, it stands to reason that they'd have a better change, after all they can hire top coaches and pay off (er, motivate) top recruits. I contend that being undefeated, especially when no other team is should give the team a shot.
Thanks for proving my point. Big time football is mainly about money, not fair competition. You wouldn't want them played on the road because your G5 teams wouldn't get the payday that helps balance their budgets for playing them. Don't know why his comment got you so defensive, it was true.
They shoulda broke away long ago imo.Let the G5 have their own play off.
So, start a rally for g5 and FCS schools to stop taking the money then. Thanks for proving my point. Big time football is mainly about money, not fair competition.
Hmmm, every other NCAA football division, and every professional league every formed don't do it the way FBS football does it either.Basketball, baseball, and every other NCAA sport are vastly different than football.
Bring it
Actually, Boise is doing just that. We are now only playing PAC schools as a home & home deal, and won't do a guarantee game unless it's at a neutral site. So, start a rally for g5 and FCS schools to stop taking the money then.
I was happy we covered the spread in the Cotton Bowl last year.Y'all are kidding yourselves if you think a G5 schedule provides the same challenges a a P5 schedule. And baseball and basketball are not the same as football when it comes to being competitive and/or parity.
Yeah, they should all have to play Mercer.Y'all are kidding yourselves if you think a G5 schedule provides the same challenges a a P5 schedule. And baseball and basketball are not the same as football when it comes to being competitive and/or parity.
Wrong. In the only time we played your school, we led most of the game and won. But your school refused to schedule a home & home. I guess that being undefeated in 3 BCS bowls doesn't count.
You're clueless, do you think for one minute that every team doesn't go out with the object of winning? But then again, you did pick "out of your mind" as your screen name. Makes sense.
And your chicken shit team nor any other top SEC team wouldn't be caught dead playing one of those schools on the road, so tell me, how are those G5 teams supposed to get those games scheduled? What, you want them to play them all on the road? Yeah, got it.
I loved that Boise State proved a point when they bear Oklahoma.Actually, Boise is doing just that. We are now only playing PAC schools as a home & home deal, and won't do a guarantee game unless it's at a neutral site.
Hmmm, lower divisions, and the NFL aren't structured like the FBS either. Your bitch should be that the g5 conferences are included in the FBS, not that they don't get the same consideration as the P5 programs.Hmmm, every other NCAA football division, and every professional league every formed don't do it the way FBS football does it either.
The only sport that follows the FBS format is figure skating, well, and synchronized swimming.
The only naked ladies he sees are through high powered binoculars or on his computer screen.I don't have the contact information for him, he's probably on his huge yacht somewhere with naked ladies sunbathing all around him while Barry Switzer and Bob Stoops look on.
Mercer and who else? Bama, Miss. St., Ole Miss, Arkansas, A&M, UGA, LSU?Yeah, they should all have to play Mercer.
