well two things

1)loud indoor stadium. hopefully they learned from the seattle game. kap needs to make his reads quicker and/or roman needs to make it easier for him.
2)this kinda goes hand in hand with number 1. nolan is an excellent coordinator. i could see kap getting forced into some bad decisions if we can't establish the run.

Cam Newton ran for 86 yards and 116 against the Falcons this year. I think we will be able to do to them as we did to the Packers. Use Kap in the run game more

Lets hope the 2nd Seahawks game was an enigma!

just don't make turnovers and bad penalties, we'll be fine.

we won't stop their offense cold, but if we can keep them to more field goals?

Their big play potential from White, JJ & Gonz worry me... but that's it and after their let down on sunday, i'm not worried as long as we can freakin punish Ryan once and for all.

Pretty interesting that the 49ers opened up being 3 1/2 point favorites on the road against a team that has been quite good at home the last few years. Shows how well the 49ers matchup with Atlanta and the respect the oddsmakers have for the 49ers.

yes, they have big play potential, but big plays require more pass protection (assuming no missed tackle). so i'd protect against the big plays and give up the short passes. this requires safety help so if they then try to run, we must rely on our All Pro LB's.

it is unrealistic to think we'll shut down everything they do.

they have no run game, but they have tons of options in the passing game. need aldon to have a big game.

I think the 49ers are the better team but the Falcons are at home; its going to be a good game but I don't see the Falcons winning this one if J. Smith is healthy.

Pass rush is a must. We saw the lack of rush did to the Hawks on defense.

Aldon Smith and Brooks need to have their way from the outside in. I hope Fangio can get sneaky with twists or something to keep the ATL OL from feeling comfortable.

But i wonder if ATL OL could sustain our power/bull rush constantly through the game?

if justin wasn't close to healthy vs GB, then god damn, a weaken Justin Smith is still better than many men at full strength at his position. No wonder he makes pro bowl from two positions.

Not saying he's 100% obviously but he still makes an impact out there. May not get the QB but still draws two blockers and holds his own.

Aldon and Brooks are key for me, they need to put a licking on Ryan.

That line shocked the hell out of me. Atlanta has lost 7 home games in 5 year and 2 of those were when Ryan was hurt and another 2 was after they had playoff seeding sewn up and rested starters. That means in 5 years a fully loaded Atlanta team with something to play for has lost 3 times at home. Frankly anyone opening as a favorite over them is ludicrous but 4-5 points is insane. That said the "experts" have been down on Atlanta all year so I guess I shouldnt be surprised at all.

Culliver matching up one-on-one against Julio Jones or Roddy White. That's an automatic 6 for them. Scares the living sh8 out of me.

We need to establish the run. Gore needs to have a monster game. We need to stop Michael Turner and force Ryan to abandon the run. If we could do that while still scheming in a way to prevent Culliver to matchup against their top two receivers, we will be fine.

People need to stop making the assumption that Atlanta doesnt have a run game as well. The Falcons, when they choose to, can still run the ball VERY well. They simply dont need to most of the time. If we need Turner or Rogers to get us some yards then they will.

Culliver just may surprise you. He seems to come up big against the best receivers. He's going to have to because with three prolific receivers you can't double much so he won't get a lot of help. The key to his success will be a good pass rush on Ryan.

Im honestly not really sold on your guys defense against high quality offenses. Niners have played 7 games against top 10 scoring offenses and are giving up 28 ppg. I see no reason Atlanta wont score 28-31 in this game. So if the Niners are going to win they will need to score at least that much. Certainly possible but nt like it will be easy :)
