So we all know the OL needs a remodel this offseason. Who should we be looking to bring in? Connor McGovern C, Orlando Brown (LT $$$$$), Jawann Taylor (RT), Mike McGlinchy (RT), Ethan Pocic (C/G)? Others. I would love to see Pocic and one of the two RT on my list to shore up the OL this offseason.

Add Facons OT Kaleb McGary to the above list. Orlando Brown is going to get a huge contract. Chiefs offered him a ton and he turned it down. If he does re-sign the more they have to pay the better.

I think McGary is a very strong possibility for Denver. McGlinchey as well but I feel a good chance he will re-sign whereas McGary I think will walk. I like Pocic and his cap hit wouldn't be bad most likely.

Don't want Donovan Smith of Tampa. I aint touching that.

I tend to agree with this. Even though he is a Florida alum. ;)

Taylor would be at the low end of my OT list. If he was the best we could do it wouldn't be great news for us. I would take him over Donovan Smith but that isn't saying a lot. Taylor has improved as his career has gone on but he is a very average OT. His run blocking will probably always be below average and his pass blocking is maybe a tad above average. He strikes me more of an OT for a team that is already pretty good on the OL and can get by with a decent OT in Taylor not a team who is awful at OT looking to strike and improve it by a lot.

He has played better since Trevor Lawrence got to Jax but you also have to realize a big reason for that is Lawrence gets rid of the ball faster then what Taylor was blocking for before.

Low interest with Taylor who is more of an "Oh crap, we lost out on all the other guys" signing.

I really think Atlanta OT Kaleb McGary is a high probability for us. (Which means now he isn't)

Seems like it will be easier in Denver's situation to get a good OT on a bad team as oppose to a good OT on a good team right now. Just sorta the state of our team right now.

We didn't get anything for Jones anyway.

Potentially.

We get a 3rd rd pick at best for him in which if we tag him we get better in a trade. We may not even get a 3rd depending on who we sign and if we get a 3rd for him next year it means we didn't sign much this offseason so NOBODY should be proud of the 3rd rd pick because it means we failed big time in free agency this year if we get a 3rd while losing Jones and not signing enough in return in a HUGE offseason for us given our circumstances.

We will next year unless we sign a big name to counteract him.

As much as I love picks it will be a huge letdown if we lose Jones, get a 3rd and don't sign anything big enough in return to offset the pick. Means we failed this offseason, BIG TIME!

Now if we tag Jones, trade him (or re-sign him) and sign other big free agents.. Then guess what? We get the best of both worlds. At worst we could have not paid him, traded him, signed other free agents and probably get at least a high second round pick or low first round pick for him.

Epic failure for Denver on the Dre'Mont Jones handling.

Agree, that was basically my point. We have too much cap space, too many needs with too few draft picks and/or free agents we let walk to believe we aren't going to be very active with at least a few mid level signings, or a big splash.

Like you said, getting a third rd comp pick is a complete and utter FA failure.

Ok, so the OL is remade: Bolles (LT) Powers (LG) Cushenberry? (C) Meinerz (RG) McGlinchey (RT)

The only question mark for me is the C spot. For whatever reason coaches seem to really like Cushenberry even though his play has been mediocre at best. Perhaps with a different scheme and solid players around him he can be successful? If not what are other options? I don't see the Broncos spending a lot more on a C but who knows.

I think we draft bpa and either slot Gut in at Center or draft one. Plus maybe Cush gets better with better help around him.

Rising tides raise all boats, and such.

I am hoping Cush gets better with better talent around him. There has to be a reason two coaching staffs have kept him around and it is looking like a third will as well.

I have minimum faith in Cush getting it right. He gets blown off the line. Maybe if they start injecting him with some high quality HGH.

I don't know that Cush will survive much longer in Denver. Huge plus for him that he is a great person and team leader.

He's certainly smart enough, but is he strong enough?

It will be interesting to see what this training staff does with him.
