uh, you got me there.

However, I worked in an industry that followed population trends and studied them. The population shift has been going on for 20 years or so. Not really sure what that means, other than that basically people are moving to those areas.

I should also include the coasts, so B1G gets in on some of that with Rutgers, Maryland.

I follow you now...The Big Ten really needs to expand south and west, not the Xii.

Yup, that's why my Pac 16 conference would be a game changer. Quit calling the SEC, come west with us. Baylor vs Oregon would be a fun game.

But Lib'ral McBerkeley says he no like religitable schools?

Honestly, Baylor does not add much to any conference. If the PAC got one Texas school, they'd basically have the whole state...the SEC already has Aggie, which is just a maroon-flavored Baylor, and LSU, which is a drunken Baylor.

We'll just go ahead and call the Sun Belt...:pout:

Oklahoma has taken the power in the Big 12-2 away from Texas and their puppet commish. Texas is not much of a team these days, nor will they be in the near future. OU is 4-1 in their last 5 meetings against Texas. TCU, Baylor, K-State. and Oklahoma State have also passed Texas. OU goes nowhere without Okie State. That is the way it is in Oklahoma. Texas will be the biggest loser when all is said and done. Baylor and TCU are private schools, so Texas is stuck with tag-along partner Texas Tech. The Pac 12 wants nothing to do with Baylor, or anything that comes close to Waco Texas.

Pac 16

Northwest division
Washington
WSU
Oregon
OSU
Stanford
Cal
USC
UCLA

Southwest division
AZ
ASU
Utah
Colorado
Texas
tech
Baylor
TCU

Original Pac schools in 1 division, with cali as a recruiting base. Southwest division has Texas as a main recruiting base, and this conference has so many major TV markets its scary. the SEC takes West Virginia and Okie light, ACC gets their choice of Iowa State, k state, or UConn. Everybody wins.

or just call it East and West.

Thumper???

lol.

Let's let the rope dangle a little to see if he can find his head into it.

He may be ok after he gets out his overly eager sense of "look at me, I'm new and I matter"

I always get a kick out of the geographical spread of the favorite teams: "uh, nah, for realz, I'm a fan of a West Coast team, a southeastern team, and a midwestern team...REALLY!"

'Cept when I do it.

It's true. Baylor will eventually be the odd team out. As distasteful as it is to admit, if Texas ever went indy it would spell disaster for TCU, Texas Tech, and the Bares. They might drag Tech along to a new league if they got an invite and needed a dance partner.

Iowa St, Kansas St., Oklahoma St., Texas Tech will all be available soon.:D

Southern Cal would NEVER allow the Cyclones in the PAC, seeing as how the Trojans ripped off ISU's uniforms

Yep, that makes the most sense. You get two blue-bloods, two travel partners, and a near-stranglehold on the recruiting grounds. The distance is unfortunate when you talk about basketball games or other non-rev sports.

So when does the SEC make a name change? Are Kentucky, Arkansas, Texas, Missouri all in the southeast?
Not necessarily but they are all connected and could make a claim as being part of the Southeast. At least it's a dignified region, unlike the Big12, who has an outcast in WV.

na while football would be a west, East split I would bet the same would happen with other sports. play your division full out and only a few of the other side.

Just shuffling a bunch of chairs around. Might as well leave them as they are for the time being. The big change will come around in about 5 years anyway.
