I'm not going to stop rooting for the Buckeyes, if thats what you were hoping to hear
Going to your superior about a CRIMINAL matter is pointless. This isn't about a job. This isn't about football. This is about a kid being raped that YOU saw. If I saw some guy dying in diag, I'm not going to run back to my superior to report it, I'm going to call the cops. Now you're just flat out making shit up. Going to your superior when you think you may have seen something happen is the opposite of being accused of covering up child r*pe. This is pathetic, even for you.
Except, that doesn't directly involve football. Schiano is the assistant head coach at Ohio State and is accused of covering up child r*pe.
Of course not, but I'd hope OSU fans wouldn't want a guy on staff who helped cover up child molestation for 30 years.I'm not going to stop rooting for the Buckeyes, if thats what you were hoping to hear
Someone who gets it.You're right--the priest pedophiles sheltered within in the Catholic church doesn't directly involve football--it involves something much more important. I'm also going to go out on a limb here and say that, maybe, Schiano was afraid and questioning what he saw. Twenty-five years ago times were very different. I'm out of this discussion now.
Firing him now for something that happened 25 years ago at a different school under very unclear circumstances is absolutely absurd.
Your fellow michigan fan has explained it perfectly.Going to your superior about a CRIMINAL matter is pointless. This isn't about a job. This isn't about football. Schiano didn't do anything. He told a co-worker. That's not turning someone in. Turning someone in implies that you turned them into the proper authorities. He told a guy that was his peer, a guy also under Sandusky.Like what Schiano did?
BTW, here's a hint: any time a grown man in his 50s offers to sleep in the same room as your 17 year old boy, it's fucked up. If you support this, your opinion on Schiano is moot.
Of course not, but I'd hope OSU fans wouldn't want a guy on staff who helped cover up child molestation for 30 years.
Yeah, sure.....but he let those questions die and go no where. It's not up to him to determine what he saw and almost certainly throughout the last 30 years he heard rumblings of other instances (as other coaches have reported). Sorry, don't buy it. Guy is a scumbag.Someone who gets it.
Uh that wasn't his peer. That was a guy who had been on the coaching staff for a decade while Schiano was fresh out of college. umichgradfan summed it up perfectly for you so you can maybe understand.Schiano didn't do anything. You don't have to buy it, you're a sanctimonious, ignorant tool who praises a coach that sleeps with teenage boys. Your opinion on this is meaningless.Yeah, sure.....but he let those questions die and go no where. He summed it up poorly and made a bad argument for a guy who covered up r*pe. Time since has nothing to do with this.Uh that wasn't his peer. Supporting a guy who sleeps over at a recruits house in a separate bed is an entirely different topic than a coach seeing a child being raped and covering up. And you're a disgusting an ass hat for even trying to compare the two, joking or not.You don't have to buy it, you're a sanctimonious, ignorant tool who praises a coach that sleeps with teenage boys. Or your kid who was raped 20 years ago because nobody did anything about it 30 years ago. What if that was your kid getting raped in the shower by a guy at a football camp who wasn't caught for 30 years because another grown adult coach didn't turn him in?
Ha, I couldn't care less what names you call me. You're ignorant and have no facts to support your argument. Telling your superior is not covering it up, period. Sorry you want so badly for OSU to fire Schiano so you guys can possibly compete, but this is a sad, pathetic way to go about it. I know I'm only a year or so older than you, but you're showing immaturity not very becoming of someone your age. When your own fellow michigan fan is siding with me, it's time for you to bow out.Supporting a guy who sleeps over at a recruits house in a separate bed is an entirely different topic than a coach seeing a child being raped and covering up. There's a legally binding deposition from the courts saying your coach saw abuse and failed to report it. Other than a video, which would have been odd back then, that's about as good as you can get proof-wise. I don't care what another guy says, no matter who he's a fan of. This has nothing to do with fandom. All of those penn state guys, especially the two named yesterday, should not be employed in football or in any position where they're supposed to mentor young adults and/or kids. You are on the side of a guy that hid child r*pe, that's not a good side to be on. I'll stick on my own side, thanks. You are literally defending his actions saying, "well, it was a long time ago.Ha, I couldn't care less what names you call me. You're ignorant and have no facts to support your argument. No, I'm literally defending his position that he DID actually report it to his superior, as has been reported (supposedly), but you're twisting things around to say he didn't because he just so happens to be a coach at OSU now. As was pointed out now many times, he was pretty much college-aged at the time, and trusted that his superiors knew how this situation was supposed to be handled. He was probably terrified about what he thought he might have seen, but also what might happen if he said anything, but he still said something. Nobody here thinks you have some sort of empathy for these kids or for the situation, otherwise you'd also have started a thread about Bradley. You're trying to troll OSU, and even your own fans disagree with you. Simple as that. There's a legally binding deposition from the courts saying your coach saw abuse and failed to report it. You act like he was a kid. He was 25, and an adult. That's what I'm not understanding here. It's not like he was reporting little jimmy cheated on his biology exam in 5th grade. He was a grown adult who saw a serious criminal act taking place. Instead of calling the police immediately, he told his co-worker. His co-worker did nothing with that information and instead of then acting on his own, ignored the fact that he saw a kid raped for 30 years and, to this day, lies about it. It's not even as if his stance today is, "I was scared at the time and didn't know what to do with the information". He's now a 50+ year old adult lying about not officially reporting a child being raped for 30 years. No, I'm literally defending his position that he DID actually report it to his superior, as has been reported (supposedly), but you're twisting things around to say he didn't because he just so happens to be a coach at OSU now.
