Yeah you would take it like that.

The Pats IMO fucked up the whole Jimmy G deal. Whether he, you or any other fan wants to believe it the days of TB12 are very, very numbered. The decline will come and he's been real lucky when it comes to injuries. All the historical data reads the end is near. The Pats could have signed Jimmy for less than SF did had they committed. The Pats could have gotten a lot in trade for TB12 had they committed. Instead of moving toward the future the Pats chose to hang onto the past and refused to draft a decent QB. This will come back to haunt the Pats. IMO they fucked this whole thing up because they refused to let go of an aging player that would have bolstered the team for the future all while having their potential replacement on board. And this had been their mode of operation in the past.

Part of me wants the Pats to begin the decline so then can learn from this

The post-Brady era was going to be a decline no matter who the next QB was. He's the ultimate ride-or-die, I don't think there's much of anything to be gleaned from doing it this way.

I definitely think Jimmy could've been the future of the franchise but I also believe Brady really does have a few years left in him, enough time to find another QB. I get it that it's a sticky situation but I personally could've gone either way in the situation for multitude of reasons.

Thanks Captain Obvious. The degree of decline is what my concern is.

Well it sounded like your concern was that they "learn their lesson" from sticking with Brady instead of dumping him. I suspect they're already aware of what the lesson of that decision is and how difficult it is to transition successfully from a legendary QB to the next guy.

Like I said I'm tired of his whiny ass but I would never trade him unless he just says FU NE. You don't trade the GOAT QBs. Not being a homer I'm basing it on his numbers.

So no way we could've kept JG in my choice of keeping TB.

Why didn't BB draft a potential replacement before the 7th round?

There is always FA once TB retires. NE will be able to take that cap $ and offer it to a quality QB.

I just would like to see TB back at these voluntary sessions.

Brady never talks to me. I have heard some interviews.
I have news for us all. Brady has always been an ass. A very good ass.
I don't care if he is the biggest dick in the NFL, as long as he keeps winning.
Yeah, we're getting tired of all these damn Superbowls......

Yeah it will never be an easy transition and hell Jimmy G may not be the answer I just don't want to become the Dolphins because the Kraft boy's got a mad crush on TB12. If TB wants a new deal close to what Jimmy and Matt Ryan got then I will be real concerned with how the team handles that.

Brady has earned a little right to say that he wants to get paid... Let's be honest about that.... Sure he still gets his money somehow but he easily could have gotten a $25-30 million year contract with the patriots but put the team first, unlike some players do. But I don't think he is acting like a bitch now anyway

Maybe he is not acting like a bitch which is why I said IF he wants to act like a bitch.

Brady may want more money and may get more money but at his age I can't see him getting Jimmy G or Matt Ryan type money. Time will tell as I said he's been pretty lucky with injuries and all history indicates the decline is coming, which is why the future contract is what concerns me.

I don't think we have to worry about the Patriots giving him a huge contract at his age... They might give him more than they should for his age but it won't be a ridiculous amount

No Gronk nor Brady at OTA today, rumors are Brady may not be at mandatory camp in June?

I'm not liking this. I'll go all chicken little here for a minute. I think this is the start to the end.

Brady needs to get into Foxboro soon and start working with Patterson, Britt, Mitchell, Mathews and the rookie.

Less than ideal, but I won't really start to worry until Brady doesn't show next month.

They can redo Gronk's contract after Thursday, I expect he'll be along shortly thereafter.

It worries me as it does you, not in the sense that TB12 needs to learn the ropes but the others do. Look the end is near anyway so maybe TB12 just wants a few extra day's with family at this point in his career he deserves that. Hoyer can take the guys through the routes and reps.

How is this news? OTA's are voluntary workouts. Brady will be at minicamp next month.
