Mother fucking cock sucking bitches. I didn't give a shit about that football game, but what the fuck. What the fucking fuck. A long bomb wrister that never should have dented the twine, and TWO, count 'em TWO giant team wide brain farts blew this one. Shitty defensive zone coverage allows OSU to score with seconds left in the game to tie it up, causing me to vomit in my mouth a little. But no worries, my boys will come through in OT, right? They are better, they are clutch, and they are skating well tonight. No. Michigan shits the bed on a rush and then gets lost coming back and the Buckeyes took advantage with a goal.

That was one quiet arena until those turd burglers snuck one in with seconds left.

Hunwick had some monster saves, and some boners (but only one goal allowed that shouldn't have been). The other two goals fall squarely on the shoulders of the skaters who were frollicking around like it was a warm up skate.

Carl Hagelin is an absolute joy to watch, I think he's going to need some time in the A before he plays in New York, but hey the Rags are good at not rushing players right?

For DaBolts, Sims is looking fantastic. It's really hard to tell if college players will ever successfully make that jump to the NHL, but he's got great hands, he looked smart, and he laid a monster check in the neutral zone. You should be optimistic about this guy.

Matt Rust is one of those guys you just kind of have to like. Love his game, love his intensity, but how do you not shoot coming hard to the net in OT? A pass to the wing leaves Hagelin destroyed and OSU storming up ice to steal the win.

I don't think we've seen the Wolverines at full speed yet this year. There were a lot of guys who looked pretty wicked in the tournament last year who seemed out of synch or missing a step today. Wohlberg in particular. Overall though the team was skating well and they should make a strong run at the frozen four.

And fuck Ohio State.

Great to hear about Shane Sims Eddie. The Islanders almost signed him this past offseason but both sides decided it would be fine if Shane played his Senior year at OSU. It's a lock that he signs after the season with the Islanders. They have high hopes for him.

The hockey rivalry is somewhat lopsided, in recent history and all time. I still love beating those fools though... I do feel like there is a lot more hate for Michigan in Ohio then vice versa. Not sure if it has anything to do with the whole Toledo thing..

Either way, if you really want to see an intense game check out a U of M vs. MSU game. Yost or Munn when those two hook up are madhouses. I don't know how well it's going to translate over to The Big Chill, part of the intensity of those games lies in the intimacy of the arenas.

I'm not a huge fan of the outdoor games, but I'm looking forward to December 11.

My brother in law is a militant MSU fan, mostly basketball and football. He doesn't really watch hockey, but he was always bragging about how crazy the crowds for Spartan football and basketball games were. I talked him into going to a game at Yost and he said it was a hundred times more intense than any other college game he'd ever been to, bar none. He's still not much of a hockey fan (he's a little slowwwww...) but he now knows the truth. An MSU-U of M game stacks up against any other sport, any other league, any other building, anywhere.

Judging by how quickly December 11 sold out, don't be surprised if they start sacrificing grizzly bears and breaking out into spontaneous orgies.
