Unbelievable. He has got to be the biggest piece of shit in the league right now.

I have a feeling Lemieux is fed up with Cooke. Lemieux just made comments in public about getting this stuff out of the game, and I would estimate he had a meeting with Cooke afterward letting him know that he won't tolerate that kind of stuff anymore, and Cooke behaved for a little while, but today just couldn't help himself. He can't go more than two weeks without 1. endangering an opponent and 2. screwing his own team in the process. Screw waivers, buy him out.

EDIT: On second thought, just levy a team-imposed suspension-without-pay for his next 174 regular season games plus all post season games in which the Penguins appear. That'll finish off his contract and he won't get to play anywhere. Win-win for everyone.

if he doesnt get 10 games minimum to start the NHL may have the biggest public backlash to date. that was so blatant that he meant to do it. there is no defense. none. fuck what a clown. I actually liked that puke at one time in his career now hes just a gutless coward

Why would we do that, it would just hurt our cap situation, which is already pretty tight for a contending team.

This isn't little league, it's not the team's responsibility to discipline their own players for on-ice behaviour. That's the league's job. Hopefully they'll grow some balls and start dishing out meaningful suspensions. Based on precedence, I expect Cooke to get 6 to 8 games, but if they want to throw more at him, I have no problem with that.

We all know Cooke doesn't really care about hurting people. But if the NHL starts cracking down seriously, it will cost him money, will cost his team wins, and will probably cost him his career at some point. Is he smart enough to change his game? I hope so, because when he's not elbowing / boarding / kneeing people, he's great.

When is this idiot finally going to get banned from the Nhl? Also, how big of a hypocrite is Mario Lemieux right now and how fucking silly does he look after voicing his head injury concerns?

Under Lemieux's very own plan to fine teams for suspensions, the Penguins should get fined a cool $1 million for this act.

So because Lemeiux's plan would hurt his own team, he's a hypocrite?

That's the OPPOSITE of a hypocrite.

The fact that he's dressing a guy who himself delivers illegal hits to the head while being "seriously" concerned about head shots in the game makes him a HUGE fucking hypocrite, yes.

Are you going to argue me on this? REALLY? lol

He takes more stupid penalties than anyone else on the team, gets suspended regularly, and brings undue misfortune to his teammates because of his antics. Whatever gets him completely out of the Penguins' system is what they should do. At this point, I think it's an addition by subtraction. If he goes on waivers, we may still have to keep him on in Wilksbarre-Scranton. I want him out. Gone. Done. Don't they only lose half his salary in cap room if they buy him out? That's not too much.

I would guess Lemieux had a little talk with Cooke, because Cooke was behaving nicely for a little while after Mario's comments. Now we'll see if Lemieux takes action against Cooke. I wouldn't be surprised to see Cooke gone nice and soon.

And Bylsma's the one dressing Cooke, not Lemieux.

Oh ok. Right. Bylsma is dressing Cooke. Lemieux is only employing him...lol

As if that makes it any better...

I'd rather see Cooke play without the cheap stuff. If he can be convinced to do that through league or in-house suspensions, then that's the ideal solution.
