Because it was sarcasm. 100% sarcasm, if you couldn't see that I cant help you.
Nope it's absolutely true.

I think his tank is empty. PassWhat about Derrick Johnson from KC as a freeagent LB???
He's 35 and a career 3-4 guy. I'd pass too.I think his tank is empty. Pass
Any confirmation that Lawrence will get the franchise tag?
I was listening to Mickey Spagnola last night, he said Lawrence was definitely getting the tag and the team is torn between letting him play on it in a "prove it again" year or signing him long term. I hope it's long term, as he said resigning Hitchens hinged on it, if Lawrence plays on the tag, they probably won't pay Hitchens the $5-$6 million per he will commandAny confirmation that Lawrence will get the franchise tag?
FT is 17.5M so 17 is a bargain, except the team doesn't have cap space to make it happen and sigh the rooks.DLaw wanting 17 mill/ yr on average. Ouch. I guess the negotiations have to start somewhere.
it will probably be a 7 year deal with the last half being bullshit.FT is 17.5M so 17 is a bargain, except the team doesn't have cap space to make it happen and sigh the rooks.
I'm thinking the sign him at 17M average over 5 years with most of the $$$ in years 4 and 5.
Bonus and first 3 years guaranteeing 40 to 50M
True. I think they have to get him signed with a low 2018/19 cap hit since they only have a little over 18M available. The FT will hurt a whole lot.it will probably be a 7 year deal with the last half being bullshit.
Signing bonus spread through 5 years.
That's a starting point.. he's going to get at least that, maybe $18. Was always gonna be that number.DLaw wanting 17 mill/ yr on average. Ouch. I guess the negotiations have to start somewhere.
Dez will be taking a pay cut or Dez will be a FA, guaranteedFT is 17.5M so 17 is a bargain, except the team doesn't have cap space to make it happen and sigh the rooks.

Agree, just looking at available space right now. I believe if they use the FT they cannot negotiate a long term deal until after the season. Paying Lawrence 17.5M in 2018 isn't good for the rest of the roster.Dez will be taking a pay cut or Dez will be a FA, guaranteed
Would you consider trading him for a 1st? I would just pay him the $17, but it's an option, franchise him and deal himAgree, just looking at available space right now. If Dez is cut, the 1st pick will be a WR.
I'd like to keep him.Would you consider trading him for a 1st? I would just pay him the $17, but it's an option, franchise him and deal him
I agree. I'm not a Dez hater, but if it means keeping DLaw, Hitch and Irving, I'm all for cutting him if he won't take a pay cut. The Cowboys built a great OL, and are getting closer on D. They say a running game and defense will take you a long way...if the Boys draft another stud OL and a couple more defenders, that'll be coveredI'd like to keep him.
To me the most impressive thing about him this year was how well be played the run and still among the league leaders in sacks
Agree, I would like to keep Dez one more season paired with a deep threat, but not at the cost of losing DLaw.I agree.
