Easy to criticize in hindsight but I do agree.

Plus I don't know why but I've never been a fan of going for it on 4th out of a no huddle.

If he was going to go for it, I'd at least prefer he get the right personnel on the field and NOT run it out of the shotgun. I don't have any statistical evidence for it but my intuition tells me that 4th down runs out of the shotgun are not as efficient as a fullback dive or something along those lines.
