@emptynetters: @Tsetse_fly 2006 had an average of 5.42. Didn't go back to 02 or 98 yet.

@emptynetters: @Tsetse_fly Should be noted 2006 had an expanded format (38 games) compared to 10 and 14 (30 games).

oh CNN :L Do you Sports bro?

Everyone loves a comeback ... Facing a two-goal deficit, Canada secured a 4-3 victory over the U.S. in the women's ice hockey final.

Not sure if this got into one of the other threads, but Selanne named tournament MVP at age 43.

I don`t mind the Selanne pick as MVP, I might have gone with Doughty or Price, though.

Id give it to Price as well and goaltender to boot on that all star pick. Selanne is just the sentimental favourite for his last tournament.

Sami Salo will be done as well
The Sedins last one (glad henrik stepped out but felt bad for him)
(probably half of swedens team also)

we are going to see quite the changing of the guard in some of those countries.

Probably is - Niedermayer only had one world junior title I believe.

Could be. Forsberg has two Olympics, two Cups, and a pair of World's, but only silver in the WJCs.

That's the only real option that came to my mind.

I was thinking either Doughty or Weber. Those two bailed that team out in a big way while the forwards were struggling. Not to mention the way the D corps as a whole shut down the opposition.

I couldn't go Price personally though. His stats were gaudy, but in watching the games, I felt like they could have had Red Light Racicot in there and still won with the way the Canadian D played.

Price made several big saves in the game against the US though, he was tested more in the semi-final game than the gold medal game. I think it was difficult to pick out a MVP for Canada because nobody really stood out above the rest.
