Well if LBJ and Bosh come back this will work out. After they sign the Big 3, they can go ahead and sign Haslem, Andersen, and Ray and anyone else that was on the roster.

Bird rights.

Yes but it will be a very bad roster. Yes Miami would still make the playoffs but I don't see them winning another ring with how this team is set up.

They will basically have the same roster adding McBob, Granger, and Napier.

Its a passing offense. Doesn't work with him. Plus he doesn't have the right roster for that offense. Knicks would have to retool the next 2 years just to try and get a roster that fits. Does Melo really want to waste 2 years.

Do you know how it works? Or are you just assuming that because ball movement is important in any offense that it won't work for him?

Every offense needs ball movement to be efficient, but it also helps to have players who can score. The triangle can create space for Melo to get shots and driving lanes.

People said the triangle would not work for Jordan either. They were wrong.

my ultimate thought on carmelo decision is LA is the championship destination. Not this upcoming season unless something crazy like adding lebron happens too but within 2-3 years. He will retire ringless if he stays in new york.

You think so? Bryant isn't getting any younger no future pieces besides randle

I do know how it works and most people have talked about this. Its not an offense made for Melo. Plus throw in that they don't have a roster to run that offense. If the offense was in place and they had the right players then I would say ok Melo has a shot here but its going to be new for everyone including Melo. It will take at least 2 years to get this team going. Again does Melo want to waste 2 years?

That is the question.

Honestly, that does not help as much as you think. Gibson is very underrated and Love is somewhat overrated. Yes, the Bulls need a scorer, but they need a wing scorer. Trading Gibson and Butler for a stretch 4 is not efficient use of their assets.

Gibson is a good defender and rebounder, but will never be the scorer Love is. Or the passer Love is. Or the shooter Love is.

So what I heard on melo, gasol ect. the Knicks have the Melo situation under control...also hints at Gasol joining the Knicks and the Knicks potentially having a trade lined up to dump Amare. Says the Knicks have big plans. Not sure if he's as well connected with the Knicks but thought I would pass it along.

NY is nervous Melo hasn't decided. Where do you get your info?

I think he can fit, but that is up to the Fisher to sell him on his role. I absolutely think he could win a scoring title in the triangle if he buys in.

As for the pieces around him, you are right. The Knicks are nowhere close, but neither are the Lakers. If he wants to win today, he will take a discount and go to your Bulls. That team would be tough for anybody to beat as long as Rose can play at somewhere near an all-star level.

Neither will win with Melo. He doesn't fit in with Jackson's Offense, and I cant see Kobe and Melo playing together. Bad situation in both places. He really should go to the Bulls or Houston.

Melo is the scorer in the Triangle Phil had with MJ and Kobe. I think he'd actually be a good fit in it.

If he stays.

NY has a ton of cap space next summer and Phil is wheeling and dealing as evident by the trade for Calderon.

If he unloads Amare and JR he deserves Exec of the year.

Love is better overall, but Love can't defend.

My point is that the gap between those two players is not worth Butler and the long term cap hit they would have to take to resign him.

Disagree, MJ and Kobe were drivers that can shoot. Melo is a shooter not much of a shake and bake player that drives to the basket. Don't get me wrong he drives but he mostly take jump shots.

I agree I don't want to blow up this team for Love but I do think they need to make some moves.
If it was me not saying Minn would take this offer but I would offer....

Boozer(expiring contract)
Gibson(Love would be the starter)
MDJ(well we just drafted his replacement)
1st rd pick

Why not?

They already added McRoberts and Granger who both have histories with LeBron. Why not Lance too?

Can they afford Stephenson if the Big 3 re-sign? He turned down just under 9 mill from Indiana.
