I don't know why cavs fans who didn't make the playoffs think they have a better roster than the heat who made the finals last year?

Right now, yes. How am I not right. They have Napier and Cole that's it. The championship roster is depleted buddy.

That's like saying the year after the Celtics went far, without Pierce, KG, Terry they had the same roster. The facts are they don't.

Wade isn't goin anywhere and bosh I'm sure will go to the heat once lebron goes back so you have cole, Napier, wade, bosh. That trumps anything the cavs offer

James would help get the Cavs into the playoffs as a 4 or 5 seed but I don't see them being a serious contender.

I don't like Gilbert as much as anyone, but they aren't winning championships bc they can't get players and coaches. This is totally different than a LA owner who can grt whorver nad whatever he wants. So comparing them is pointless. That is why I imagine he was upset when Lebron left, bc without him there is less hope.

That is why if they get him back, in a way Lebron is the owner. He recruits players, he is basically the coach. Gilbert is criticized bc of the letter but what has he really fucked up on. Bad coaching hire when the team was not competitive anyway, who gives a shit.

He was practically the GM in Cleveland already. Lebron had to recruit in Cleveland. In Miami, we have Riley to do that. What else has Gilbert fucked up on? Let's take a look since Lebron left, as his front office is a reflection of his choices..

1. Fired Mike Brown after he coached the Cavs to the ECF.
2. The front office that he put together and coach he hired lost 26 straight games at one point.
3. The letter, calling Lebron out.
4. Hiring Mike Brown (after firing him), then firing him again after one year.
5. Drafting Anthony Bennett when there were clearly better players on the board.

Why does Lebron have to be the GM? Doesn't your front office have the knowledge to do that on your own? Miami certainly does. Lebron's going to be the owner of the Cavs now too?!??!!

Man, if you can't understand the difference between Cleveland and Miami's roster situation than I can't help you. You think Miami's rolling out with a line up of Cole and Napier next season and aren't going to get other players? I guess Miami's going to have to go to the TNT crew and ask Barkley, Kenny, and Shaq if they can fill out the rest of the starting roster.

Miami has this thing called flexibility. They can either miss out on everyone where they only bring Wade back or they can have Bosh head to Houston and Lebron come back to Miami with Melo in tow.

That doesn't mean he has a grudge against his hometown, he goes back all the time. Shit happens. Gilbert doesn't win championships, the team and coach does. And those are questions right now the roster, that's why he will most likely stay in Miami, not Gilbert.

He goes back to his MANSION in AKRON, which is his hometown.
Most of those people never turned on him, because he had always and still continues to do so much for that city outside of playing basketball.

Him going to his house in the summer has ZERO to do with the Cavaliers.

1. Brown sucks, he know that for sure now.
2. Like I said the coaching changes is where he has been weak, but they weren't competitive. They could of gotten Doc Rivers and they would still of sucked.
3. The letter, it was stupidity and mostly anger. Has no impact on Lebron coming to Cleveland.
4. Back to coaching changes.
5. He wanted Oladipo, I have said this multiple times. I don't know why he didn't fight harder for him. I guess it was 1 against a bunch.

The facts are none of these decisions happened when they were competitive, yah he isn't that stable but they still didn't HAVE THE ROSTER. Spo wasn't anything before the Heat's roster. He is a good coach, but he proved in the Finals he made simple mistakes.

I am not sticking up for Gilbert, but when you are the owner of a Cleveland team it is way different. We'll see how this Blatt guy turns out, supposedly a genius...sigh

Bottomline: If he goes to Cleveland all will be forgotten, it's business. Some of you fans have to realize that. Business is business.

You know how many partners have fallouts and then close another deal. Same thing. They were never best friends, they were business partners.

Spo still made the playoffs with only Wade as his only player as 4/5 seed. I criticize the front office for Cleveland more than Gilbert. But then again, Gilbert hired them.

It's a business that revolves around sports. If the situations were reversed where Lebron was drafted in Miami and he couldn't win, and he went to Cleveland to go to Wade and win, Miami fans may have burned his jersey in embarrassing display as well. I think Cavs fans deserve the misery they've know for quite some time, and I hope it continues.

I am saying right now, but there is a slight possiblity it doesn't work out. The Cavs roster IS intact right now, awaiting Lebron. That is the point I'm making .

You're right Miami will probably have that roster intact, but it isn't at this point.

Like I said if he went back no one would give a shit. I can't relate have always been a Lebron fan and wouod welcome back Cleveland. I don't hold grudges.

That's the gamble. But as constructed, that roster in Cleveland ain't winning anything, even with Lebron. It's called a process.

Yes, but....

the biggest difference in your scenario and what really happened....

LeBron wasn't a Florida hometown hero trying to win one for the hometown fans.

LeBron was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. He didn't just leave the team that drafted. He left the hometown team that drafted him. That made the hurt all the more personal for the Ohioans.

That's not even mentioning dragging those fans along during his so-called Decision (which had been made long before the day of that tv show but was strung along just to get those same fans to watch The Decision.)

For sure. I just think it's Chicago or New York.

I hope u are right about Bulls being an option but with the reports out there it looks like NY and Lakers with NY with the edge.

Does Melo want to win or wants the money and its looking like he wants the money.

In my parallel universe, Lebron's from Miami. Try to keep up, Rob.

With LBJ, Cleveland is a 1 or 2 seed in the East.

Since LeBron has left, Cleveland has had the #1 pick 3 times and 5 picks in the top 4. The fact that they do not already have a roster able to compete for a 4-5 seed in the East is a testament to just how bad Cleveland's front office really is.

The thing is, it isn't like they picked a Greg Oden and got unlucky. They reached for players that NOBODY would have taken in the spots they took them and missed horribly. The Waiters pick was pretty bad. They were not going to take Lillard since the already had Kyrie, but they could have had Barnes, Ross, or Drummond who would all have been much better fits.

Saying that Gilbert wanted to take Oladipo does not do the pick justice. Anthony Bennett was not on the radar to be the number 1 pick. Nobody else would have taken him there. The mistake of drafting Waiters in 2012 did not really allow them to take a similar, but better Oladipo in 2013, so instead they compounded it by making what could arguably be considered the worst draft pick of all time.
