Napier will be better than Cole/Chalmers which is an improvement at this point. Napier is more of a PG than Chalmers as Chalmers is more of a combo guard who is a spot up shooter and he brings more offense to the table when you compare him to Cole and is just as good on defense

He was going to be a 1st round pick either way even if drafted by another team. If Miami was 100% sure he would not go in the 1st round, I'm pretty sure they would've traded/swap picks with one of those teams who drafted early in round 2

I am not a Heat fan and I think you are over-dramatizing this. There may be better chances for LeBron out there, but with LeBron the Heat are a real contender even if Wade continues to decline. LeBron is that good and Bosh is a terrific complement.

Unless the Heat can sign Pau Gasol, the Heat aren't going to the Finals next year. Lebron had to put in too much effort to get to the finals the previous 4 years, he can't continue to shoulder the load while Wade takes off games and Bosh can't carry the load for long stretches. There is only so much one player can do year after year. Jordan had tons of help especially with defense and rebounding, Kobe as well. Lebron is one of my favorite players but he needs more help than what Riley has given him the last year and it appears Riley isn't going to give him much more.

Who's beating them in the East if the big 3 comes back? The only possible team I could see would be the Bulls IF they get Melo.

Heat offered Deng 6-8 million range. Deng turned down 10 mill from the Bulls last year. Looks like Deng made a mistake. Not a bad offer from Miami if it was for 8 mill.

8 from the Heat with no state taxes is prob close to 10 w taxes, correct?

Chalmers did not play well in the Finals, but I have always thought he was the ideal fit for the Heat. They don't need a playmaking PG because they already have playmaking wings. They need a PG who can make open shots and defend. That is precisely what Chalmers brings.

I disagree. Pau has said that he would be willing to take less for a chance to win another title. What he hasn't said is how much less.

Pau is in a pretty powerful position. He has already had his max payday. While he's in no longer worth a max deal, he is worth more than the MLE. He already has won 2 rings, so he's not just some older player trying to get a ring before he retires.

He loves L.A. and being a Laker (despite him constantly being in every trade rumor since the Lakers last title). Imo, he wants to see what the Lakers are going to do. If the Lakers can land 'Melo or Lebron, I think he stays because he'll have a chance to win and the Lakers can pay him more via Bird rights.

If the Lakers don't get 'Melo or Lebron, then I think there will be the possibility of a sign and trade and he may look at the MLE as a last option.

Bottom line, I don't think Pau is in any particular hurry and he doesn't need to be.

they have a shot...but wouldn't say they are the first option. he made 19mil last season. I don't see him dropping under 10 mil a season unless no team offers it

I agree with everything here except the defense part. He falls asleep on defense too frequently. I wouldn't mind Chalmers but I just don't like him being the starting PG. Last year Chalmers wasn't bad until the playoffs. He had a decent regular season. If you told me I had to choose between Chalmers/Cole as the backup PG, I choose Chalmers all the time

Pacers, Wiz, Nets, and Bulls will all have great chances against a weak Heat team with a crippled wade and overrated Bosh.

No. Depending on what state Deng goes to, the state tax rate could be anywhere from 4.6%-12%., with California being that 12%. Many are in the 6-7% range. If we take the average of 6.5% that would make $8 mil seem like $8.5 mil. Where as if he was making $10 mil, it would be around $9.35 after state taxes.

The Nets had a better chance last year as they now will be without several key role players.

Bulls won't do shit until they get Rose healthy and some help.

Pacers? :laugh3:

The Heat would be better off getting a Paxson/Kerr/Fisher type of PG rather than a playmaking type. Guys who can spread the floor & hit open jumpers. Nelson is not that guy & neither is Napier at this point.

BTW, I would take Chalmers over Nelson & Napier. The guy takes too much of the blame.

Unless you are saying the word Spurs, please remove all other teams names from your mouth, until one of them actually accomplishes it.

Id also rather have Chalmers.
One bad series doesn't wipe out his improvement or familiarity with the Heat.
The entire team was outplayed, not just Chalmers.

Times are changing, you can't rely on everything being the same and Miami being the clear favorite every year. Other teams in the East are getting better while Miami is getting worse. If Riley had any foresight the Heat wouldn't be in the position they are now.

Chris Bosh's reps have made recent calls on market to reconfirm that max slots would be available to him, sources tell Yahoo. Answers: Yes.

If losing Bosh means we can bring in Gasol & Deng in addition to re-signing Wade & James, it wouldn't really bother me if he leaves

Deng is meeting with the Heat, bc Bosh is questionable but if Bosh and Lebron sign. Deng is a no.
