Gilbert has no shame so he'd take LeBron back with open arms if given the chance.
In premise nice theory, but it's not the reality.
Where he plays will be because he feels it's his best chance to win.
He would never choose Cleveland for the city, he would choose it for the roster of players on the Cavs.
Great story if he ever did win there, but don't confuse the would be nice story as his priority.
Spencer Hawes to the Clippers on a 4 yr/23M deal.
BIG SIGNING
Yah reality, but he goes back to Cleveland it will be hidden more than in any other cities. The story will be he is going back to Cleveland to win them a title, he will praised but probably not by Heat fans.
But they shouldn't be mad if he goes, he had a great 4 years there, but age and another great team caught up to them.
Yeah they got him for cheap. He got underpaid for sure when you see what Meeks, Bradley, and others got but he's on a championship contender so it is all worth it
Nelson is an upgrade over Chalmers/Cole and he is actually truly a PG which cannot be said about Chalmers
Carter is a huge upgrade over Shane Battier. If he played on the Heat last year, he would've been our best 3 point shooter.
Trevor Booker is a role player but I think he is better than Udonis Haslem for sure.
If Gasol is pushing for $10-12 mil that is not good for the Heat
Wait, I thought he went to the Clippers?
If he's pushing for 10-12 mil, he can't go to any of the teams he's meeting with for the most part so I think it's BS. Most of the teams he met with can only offer the MLE
*Throws a tarp over this comment so Mecca doesn't see it*
7:27pm: Doc Rivers is trying to arrange a sign-and-trade with the Cavaliers for Hawes, which would preserve the Clippers midlevel exception which the team would then use to target Paul Pierce, tweets Wojnarowski.
You don't run because you didn't win a finals. You get better and try to get back there and hope the Spurs are there again just as the Spurs did this season.
So everytime he doesn't win a title he's going to take the easy way out and go to another team? At this rate he would play on 6 or 7 teams by the time he retires.
Hawes would probably be a Heat if LBJ would've re-signed already. All he got was the MLE
This is exactly what Cavalier fans were saying 4 years ago.
LeBron has been 100% transparent with his intentions and his expectations for the roster to improve. Quite honestly, I think your beef with him is unreasonable. It is always a bad idea to make future decisions while looking in the rear view mirror and it is really hard to get better when your 2nd best player is in a rapid decline.
LeBron sees what is going on with Wade and he is taking nothing for granted. He is at the top of his game now, but for how long?
VC can still hoop it up off the bench as a 6th or 7th man. Battier was toast last season.
I'd take Haslem over Booker, Booker doesn't impress me much. He's a poor mans Reggie Evans.
I don't equate the current James/ Heat situation with the past James/Cavs situation.
The Cavs weren't in 4 straight Finals having won 2 of them.
Matter of fact, word was if James could have gotten Bosh to join him in Cleveland he would have stayed.
Bosh is still with him here and is a better player then he was 4 years ago.
James will stay to play with him, Spoelstra just has to be much more aggressive in making him the 2 nd option.
i agree with everything except this. Yah his stats went down but that isn't the story. I can say he has expanded his game to the 3 point line, but I think he is pretty much the same as he was in Toronto. But do you think his prime is almost over or is he on the decline soon too??
