Interesting move by the Hawks today. Don't quite understand. Could any Thunder fans tell me more about Thabo that would make Danny Ferry want him?

I was talking about Lebron.....Not Pat

Oh.. Sorry.

As far as James, he pretty much has always done what he has said he will do.
Since we have no clue what he did say, I have no reason to think he won't honor whatever that was.

Who knows.......Thabo was all but useless in OKC last year. The fact he was a starter for as long as he was tells you how incompetent Scott Brooks is. This also speaks VOLUMES about Ferry.

Yeah, I don't quite get this decision either. I'm assuming he's going to be a bench player and is strictly for defense. That would make sense. What I don't get is why they want a thirty-year-old player. I mean, are we in rebuilding mode or not?

People in Atlanta seem to think this team is a player or two away from contending. They haven't grasped that this is a REALLY BAD TEAM.

They won what, 30 some odd games last year IN THE EAST???

That's TERRIBLE.

I think they're well coached and getting the best out of what they have......but they don't have much.

Now Dirk gave his team help. 3yrs at 30mil.. I wish Wade/Bosh would follow suit and do the same thing, then we might actually be able to bring in some talent while still allowing LBJ to get his deal..

I understand Lebron has never been the highest paid player on his team and he wants that now, but he can still be the highest paid and not take MAX in Miami.

LEBRON is being a bit of a dick about this....

He is completely mucking up the entire works and really screwing over the HEAT right now.

He needs to let them know what the hell he is doing soon.

Yep as I said he is fucking us over big time either way

In other news Heat & Thunder are after Anthony Morrow who is a dead eye shooter

2 of my favorite NBA posters, but I'm calling you guys out on this one.

If anything, LeBron's low-key attitude has helped Riley. The prevalent thought up until last night (and even now) is that LeBron is coming back to Miami. If he is truly considering going elsewhere... he's been as quiet and under-the-radar as he possibly could be.

The Gortat, Lowry type FA were always pie-in-the-sky dreams and missing out on them has nothing to do with LeBron not signing yet.

LeBron, and every other free agent, has every right to take as much time as they want. Its been 2 freaking days for crying out loud.

90% of the free agents are still mulling their options (all of them much more loudly than LeBron)... but LeBron is the only one screwing over his team for taking more than 2 days decide?

I wouldn't say they're a bad team. They were pretty decent with Horford before he got injured. They were somewhere between Washington and Toronto's level with him playing last season. They were awful not long after Horford was out for the season though.

Its a little bit different with Lebron though.

Lebron wants the HEAT to add higher quality players around.
But, Miami cannot do that until freaking King James tells them what he is doing.

For example:
Lowry really had some interest in Miami, but he doesn't know if they could offer him 3 million, 6 million, or 10 million. He doesn't know if Lebron will even be on the team. He could not wait around for answers being sort of held hostage by Lebron. So, he plays it safe with Toronto.

One by One, quality guys that Pat Riley probably could add if he had any clue what he was working with are signing elsewhere.

All these possible HEAT players don't have all summer long to dick around waiting for Lebron.
But Miami cannot spend money elsewhere until Lebron tells them what he is doing.

When Lebron finally does make up his mind, there will not be a ton of parts left for Miami to sift through if he signs. And if he doesn't sign, the HEAT are missing out on the chance to woo a few higher priced guys.

So, he is screwing Miami over a bit.

I'm just going to say it, anyone that would blast the guy now but make excuses for what he did to come there in the first place needs to look in a mirror and give himself the finger.

I'm surprised they could offer that much money after the obscene contract they gave Kobe.

This line of thinking is stupid. It is clear what Lebron James is doing. He opted out a week earlier than he had to to give Riley enough time to plan everything out. They've talked. Lebron isn't stupid. He knows how this stuff works. Here's what likely happened in that convo. Lebron said "I want the max or close to it and here's a list of a few players I think this team can get". So he's waiting to see if Riley and the Heat actually upgrade the roster. They've already gone after one guy Lebron liked by drafting Shabazz Napier. I'm sure they're doing the same with free agents. And you know what Riley's pitch is? "Come to Miami. Lebron told me himself he wants you". It's not like Miami will go after guys Lebron would like to play with only for Lebron to say "SIKE!" and sign elsewhere ( though apparently BK seems to think that's his evil genius plan). What point is there in that? Seriously, think about it for one second. This type of thinking is just nonsensical paranoia. Everyone was fine a couple of days ago. But then Chris Broussard (of all people), files some dubious report about the Big 3 "not being on the same page" and Heat fans like BK are trying to convince themselves that Lebron is out to get them.

All Lebron is doing is exercising his right as a free agent. He's making sure Miami's FO follows along because by not signing, that gives him leverage. If he signed, there's no incentive for Arison to commit to paying players Lebron wants. This is part of the plan. He's not screwing them over. They aren't missing out on guys because of "indecision". There is no indecision. Lebron is doing what he told Miami he was going to do days ago.

BTW, the Lowry thing is ify. I've read reports that Miami never had formal talks with him and that Lowry's agent leaked the mutual interest story to drum up the price between Toronto and Houston, Lowry's heaviest suitors and the two he had the most interest in joining from the start.

They have room for the full max so that offer isn't impossible. But if he agrees, that basically puts the Lakers right at the cap or maybe over it when you add in the rest of the guys under contract (Kobe, Nash, Randle, Marshall, and Sacre). I don't have the CBA memorized but that means in order to get Pau, they'd have to exercise his Bird Rights in order to go over the cap to sign him. It also means LA is basically restricted to minimum level FAs unless they are their own (again, bird rights)

This EXACTLY!!

It's funny when Lakers fans have more faith in Lebron than his own fanbase.
