They traded for Lin to get a 1st rounder & 2nd rounder. If they use those drsft picks wisely like they did with Randle & Clarkson? That's how you rebuild.

It was a joke.

Yeah but Stephenson is a way better defender and more versatile player.

Probably but I think the league got tired of his antics and teams refused to give him a long term deal.

All he had to do was be on his best behavior most of the year and he would be making 10+ mill yearly

Looks like the Rockets managed to get something out of their EPIC failure this offseason.

They still got hosed.

But at least they have a shot at recouping the pick they gave to the Lakers.

David Aldridge -Wizards have engaged Rockets and Pelicans in three-team deal to facilitate Trevor Ariza going to the Rockets and Omer Asik going to NO.

Pelicans will get Asik, Omri Casspi & 1.5M from Houston. Rockets get Ariza from Wizards, Alonzo Gee and 2015 protected first from Pelicans.

Wizards will take non-guaranteed contract of Melvin Ely from NO & get $8.5M TPE for Ariza.

PJ Hairston had a nice game. I think this might one of the steals in the draft. Top 10 talent and Char got him late in the 1st. Kid can shoot and he is a good defender.

Miami has a nice little team brewing.

All the obituaries surrounding them were a bit premature.

With some luck, they could conceivably be a dark-horse to get back to #5 in a row.

Can't believe people thought Pat will go the Dan Gilbert route and let his team suck and go back to being a lottery team:L

We have a nice little roster now and our bench is improved now as not only did we get younger but most of the bench players aren't one dimensional

Instead of an F- grade, the Rockets managed to salvage a D+ grade.

They literally could have hired a 2nd grader and did better.

All the talks about their brilliant front office need to stop immediately.

This makes me mad. I was telling my friend today that if LBJ didn't act like he was considering the Heat there is no way they draft Napier. I'm almost certain Miami would've drafted Hairston/Early instead of Napier as they got Napier to please Lebron. Sad thing is now we kinda need a shooter and Hairston would fit that role perfectly

I wish Bulls had more money to spend. Lance in that Lineup would look nice.

Rose
Lance
Butler
Gasol
Noah

scary defensive team. Not a big Lance fan but he would look nice in that line up.

Trade just went down. 3 team trade

Houston traded Asik(NO) Casspi(NO) 1.5 going to Pelicans
Wash traded Ariza(Houston)
Pelicans Gee, Hopson and a 1st rd pick

Welp...Nevermind.

Deal is off.

Sign-and-trade talks between Houston and Dallas have ended, sources say. So Rockets won't be salvaging trade exception from Parsons' exit.

Rockets believed they could create trade exception if Mavs & Parsons agreed to re-do their deal as a sign-and-trade.

However, Mavs understandably cool on the idea of helping a Texas neighbor escape with a valuable asset. So original offer sheet to Parsons stands

I agree Miami has a nice team that can fight in the playoffs. Just like the Bulls with Rose, Miami will go a far as Wade can go. Wade gets hurt or sits a lot of games they will be in trouble.

Honestly take summer league with a grain of salt. Napier is gonna be a good pro probably

And that would have been grading them on the curve.

Since it aint happening, they are back to F- status :laugh3:

The regular season means something again. Wade won't be sitting out just to sit out. He will play 70+ games unless he actually is hurt

I agree. PJ is my sleeper Rookie of the year pick. The kid was going to be up for Player of the year in college before what happen. People forget how good he is. I remember in the draft thread I said Heat should take PJ. Some Heat fans didn't like it. He is a steal in this years draft.

This is crazy. Were the Rockets going to win a title the way they were constructed last year?

The answer is no. They swung for the fences and missed, but that does not make their front office a failure. They were very close to landing Bosh, and had they done it, they would have been on the short list of title favorites. None of it would have been possible without moving Asik and Lin first.

They absolutely made the right moves, it just didn't work out.
