Ben Gordon got a 2-year $9 million dollar deal for Orlando. Not sure who I got in a debate with on why Lebron should/shouldn't go to Orlando. But this seems as great an argument as any right now.

Cavs are about to offer Heyward Max deal. That would be crazy.

Heyward just isnt worth a max contract.. But if they do offer it, there goes the chance of LBJ resigning with them.

3rd
best player on their team. West is better than him.
I can see the argument, but considering all factors, especially age, Lance is the much better player to have moving forward.

I agree he's a head case, and said during the playoffs several times that his behavior would cost him millions.

First smart thing Cavs do in years is start making moves without considering James, because they know he's not coming.
These other teams should start following in their footsteps.

Seeing all of these horrible contracts is disconcerting. I wouldn't be surprised to see owners complain about competitive balance and losing money again when this CBA expires.

Imo, lots of people around the league must think he is a stat padder and not a guy that can help you win games.

I kinda agree with that notion. But I don't watch him enough to tell one way or another.

The Cavs can offer anything they want, only to have Utah match. Do I think $14 mil a season is an overpay? Yes, but that is the cost of trying to steal an RFA from a team. The same thing is going on in Phoenix with Bledsoe. Is he really worth max money? Not really, but unfortunately there are desperate teams out that are willing to pay max money to try & steal him. So Phoenix will end up matching and having to overpay for his talent. Phoenix was on the other end of this 2 offseasons ago with Eric Gordan in NO. And they likely might bid on Hayward & Parsons. But in order to land RFA, you have to overpay.

The small market owners shot themselves in the foot with the current CBA, imo. It was supposed to bring competitive balance, but it hasn't. The small market teams are forced to overpay for players to have any shot at having a decent team, but have less to work with and face huge luxury tax bills that they can't afford. Meanwhile, larger market teams are still willing to pay the luxury tax for an opportunity to win titles.

By and large, the true max level players aren't coming to those teams, so they end up giving max contracts to non-max level players like Hayward and $6 million a year to players like Jodie Meeks.

The CBA was supposed to bring competitive balance in a financial sense. Which it has. Before the new CBA. 1/3 of the owners, mostly small market teams, were operating in the red. Now, with the new CBA, revenue sharing & luxury tax payments keep teams that would otherwise be in the red, afloat.

I doubt he's getting 10M from anyone.
It won't be from the Heat, if he does

He can easily get that much. He averaged almost a double-double last season. And that will be half of what he got paid last season. I agree he's out of the Heat's price range though.

CJ Miles to Indiana

That's too bad. I really thought he'd be a good candidate for Miami. a 6'6" shooting guard that knocks down the 3 at a 40% clip. Doesn't make sense for Miami at that high of a salary, though.
