Like I said before, that's gonna be a bad look for LeBron if he takes the max. He more than deserves it....but he'd really hurt Miami's chances of building like he wants too...either that or he's asking for the max because he's gonna leave

Here is a player that would do well in Miami as a PG. DJ Augustin. He can shoot the 3 and is a good passer. Defense is so so but wouldn't be a bad move for Miami. He wouldn't cost that much. If Nap does well DJ would also be a good back up.

LBJ deserves the max and then some, but it puts Miami in a bad way. We have to pay him what he wants. You cant let him walk away, but that leaves little room to upgrade the roster. Wade is the one who needs to take the biggest pay cut and get down to the 10 mil a year mark, nothing more. Im surprised tho that LBJ doesnt take into account what he saves by not paying the State Tax in florida. If he goes to any other team outside Florida and Texas, a good chunk of his $$ is going to taxes. He shoudl take that into consideration here and sign for the $18 mil mark.

Miami should be a little frightened now.

That is the first strong sign that Miami might not be the destination after all.

Up until this, I always thought it was 99.99% likely to be Miami.

He's leaving. By saying he wants the max basically handcuffs wade/bosh to take a major/significant pay cut. If he takes the max, miami team will look almost identical except with different faces

James is a max player right now. Wade and Bosh aren't. Especially Wade

Neither of them would.sign for a max anyway but he's basically asking those guys to take 10-12 million dollar max. Bosh can get 15-17 million easily on the open market.if.a team wants him as their first or second option. Wade can probably get 12-14 for a shorter deal. I can see someone giving him 2 yr/25 mill.

Its easy to bash Wade and Bosh as guys who don't deserve max deals because of the roles they've played on the Heat.

I think they both could get far more than anyone thinks if it actually came down to other teams having a chance. Wade obviously has the durability concerns, but I do see Bosh as a max guy.

I mean, lets look at some of the players to get north of $20 million in recent years...
Stoudemire, Joe Johnson, Rashard Lewis, Tracy McGrady, Jermaine Oneal

Yeah, Wade probably could get money in a 2yr deal somewhere but it would have to be a contender that already has a perimeter presence but needs a SG. A fairly limited market, imo, but he could get some money somewhere.

A lot of the good teams have lucked out with a rookie contract on the books and the Heat haven't had that benefit. Even if they come back with the same roster as last year with a couple of younger role players, they are still probably the favorite out East. That has to count for something in Lebron's decision.

If LBJ signs a max deal with Miami, that means only 2 of the 3 are coming back and I think it would be LBJ and Wade.

As free agency starts, James/Bosh/Wade plan to give Pat Riley a window to enact his plan on upgrading supporting cast, sources tell Yahoo.
