The Raps and Hawks made a trade.

Lou Williams and rights to Louis Noguiera to the Raps for John Salmons. The Hawks are expected to waive Salmons and only pay 1 million of his 7 million dollar salary.

They will have 20 million in cap space this summer.

I doubt James initially even sets up meetings with any other teams.
IF, for whatever reason the Heat isn't satisfying him a few days into FA, then he will.

Yeah it gotta be a good signs for Heat fans that Lebron and the other 2 of the big 3 were discussing contract numbers and it is also a good sign that you haven't heard any rumors about LBJ meeting with any teams on July 1st.

Right now it looks possible that the big 3 may not meet with any teams and hopefully all re-sign with Miami before 4th of July and let Pat go to work

I think they all need wait to resign until after the hopefully new additions are in place.
Then they can sit down with Ellison/Riley and see how many dollars are left and the best way to distribute it long term.

I read on ESPN it was going to be 15.5 million.

I wonder if we're going to trade Millsap too.

That's going to be hard considering all eyes will be on what Lebron and Melo does. Once they make their decisions, the rest of the dominoes fall.

I read that Lebron's agent will talk with other teams first before these teams get a face-to-face with Lebron. That should thin out some of these rumored destinations, then depending on the Miami situation, Lebron may not even bother meeting with the others.

Why would you trade one of your best valued assets? He's underpaid.

My guess would be the Hawks are trading away some players in preparation for free agency. I saw an article on ESPN the other day that stated that sources told ESPN the Hawks were one of the teams working on clearing cap space to go after Carmelo and LeBron.

Problem is I can't see those two signing with the Hawks over the Suns, Heat, Bulls, or Mavericks.

Deng is on Atlanta's radar. They'll have the cap space for him. I think he'll be in the $10mil to $12mil range.

Lebron wants a maximum contract. If anyone deserves one, he does......

LeBron James will have a completely different process and a different priority when he opens his free agency at midnight tonight than he did in 2010, sources told ESPN.com.

Teams who contact James will be informed that he wants no less than the maximum salary number for next season, sources said. The max number is projected to be $22.2 million. In 2010, James accepted a pay cut when he signed with the Miami Heat, taking less than the maximum salary to help make space for other free agents.

Also, as of now, James is not scheduling any pitch meetings with teams -- he will let agent Rich Paul handle the opening stages of talks. In 2010, he scheduled six meetings with teams at his offices in Cleveland over the first three days of July.

James' demands for the length of his next deal is in flux. After the Finals, James said flexibility was important to him, hinting that he may not be looking for a full four or five-year contract.

Miami should be a little frightened now.

That is the first strong sign that Miami might not be the destination after all.

Up until this, I always thought it was 99.99% likely to be Miami.

Melo going to Visit Bulls first. Plus Bulls have a visit with Mirotic. Lets hope Melo likes what he sees.

Gasol is also going to Visit the Bulls. I think this is Plan C for the Bulls. If the Bulls can't land Melo or Love they will go after Gasol
