Riley has 8 total rings as an assistant coach, head coach and executive. He must be doing something right.

Riley is a better head coach than he is a GM. I give him tons of credit as a head coach. As a GM he is medicore. The players he got that won championships there wanted to be there anyway. Shaq was going to be traded to the east coast and preferred a warm, hip destination. Lebron and Bosh colluded with Wade to go to miami. Riley's rings as GM were more a matter of good luck.

Riley did better as a coach than a GM. His success with Alonzo and Hardaway had more to do with his coaching. That team wasn't all that good anyway. As I said earlier Shaq wanted to come there as did lebron and bosh, Riley just opened the door.

5 rings while coaching the Lakers, including a run of 4 straight finals appearances and the first back to back titles by a team in 20 years.

3 rings while head coach and GM of the Heat, including back to back titles and the first run of 4 straight finals in almost 30 years.

Clearly, he has no clue about what he's doing and should be fired immediately.

He is a better coach than GM. Riley would be better of coaching and letting someone else be GM.
